3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Hannah hasn't had a match of that quality for some time. Excellent viewing. Well done to Isabelle.

Yes. She got very lucky re the weather. It completely changed the match.
But that's life - it rains, matches get moved, roofs have to be shut, courts get changed
The title, to my way of thinking, is more important for Isabelle
It won't make any realy difference to Hannah

Well done to both. Good to see Hannah being challenged by home players and Isabelle playing with aggression and coming back from behind. An amazing prize for both.

Totally agree that this is more important for Isabelle. She hits the ball very nicely when she has time but it's a little loopy and really just a rally ball when she's under pressure. Hannah didn't serve great in that final set and that really was the difference imo. That said, overall nice level and it's great to see that with Ranah, Talia, Mimi, Hep, and these two, we have a strong group of girls.

Good win for Isabelle. Tough to start at 30.30 1.2 after the rain delay. Experience over youth takes the day in a turn around to recent years.

I honestly don't think it was experience.

I think it was conditions.

Isa couldn't deal with the wind very well but far prefered the indoor standard conditions.

Fine happy for age over youth. The 2006 cohort had it tough during Covid missing the first 2 years of ITFs when 14 and 15 so pleased for to see Isabelle win

 smile

We'll go for that smile

Although it made me smile/cry, to think of 16 year-olds as 'age', not youth

The commentator is calling Hannah "Kluegman" when it's Klugman (like jug-man). No?

I think she does pronounce it to sound like "Clue" rather than rhyme with "Plug". Of course if/when she becomes famous she'll probably get "Kluggers" or "The Klugster"!

Yes, I think she pronounces it the German way (which presumably is more 'authentic')

I've always heard Klooogman

However, the commentator confirmed that Isabella Lacy goes by 'Isa' (Eeza) - she kept calling her Isa so I assume that's how she likes to be called
