Julian Cash is also in doubles here, with William Blumberg. Not sure where Henry is, maybe injured again?

Now live ranked 208, Jan will take out his CH 218 in the next rankings.

In theory he could sneak into the top 200 with one more win. But with others that can still add points, he will probably need 2 more wins and a SF spot.

And after next Monday he has only 6 ranking points ( net just 1 ) due off before August.  So he has a window to continue to rise quite a bit further.

Tough! But good test for Jan. at altitude as well, will suit Galan more given he is from Columbia

What I'm liking about Jan is it's not a one off flash on the pan tournament, but is putting together a consistent set of results from tail end of last year. Have noticed he doesn't get much love on the forum though, compared to most of our other players.

id say that is probably true and almost certainly down to his background - he hasnt grown up through the system, many of our members follow players right the way through careers and Jan has come into the Uk from the outside - a bit like a Cam Norrie or perhaps more relevantly a Aljaz Bedene, maybe. So he hasnt got the history. Dont think it means anything, just people are getting to know him and that takes time. I hope and dont think anyone has expressed any issues with Jan not being a Brit all his life, pretty sure life has moved on from that type of thinking around here! But he is a less known entity and harder to support as a consequence

I also like what he is doing  - building slowly and steadily. Reckon he could get himself a WImbledon WC, as mentioned elsewhere - wasnt he in the United Cup squad as well, so getting into the British team as well might start to raise his profile?!
