Liam is 2-0 head to head with the Austrian. Both in Italy in 2021.

Although hopefully Liam will get in as of right , if you were giving out wild cards for Wimbledon now, who would you give them to?

Liam
Ryan
Jan?
Billy ?

Maybe Ali G after last seasons work?

Id be hard pressed to give any more main draw mens ones based on where we stand now? 2 with 3 maybes ?

Liam, assuming he doesn't get in automatically, Kyle and Ryan are the only certs to me. I lean towards yes for Billy if he can remain fairly consistent next couple of months.

Jan will likely get one as well (I'm guessing there was some sort of sweetener involved for his agreeing to effectively be a non-playing reserve in the United Cup) and he is pushing his ranking toward the 200 mark anyway. Ali hasn't impressed me much recently but with his serve he should pick up some points in the early grass court events and that may well swing the odds in his favour.

I imagine we'll see a couple of new faces at Wimbledon qualifying this year as well, especially when we have a few players doing well on the college circuit.

Forgot about Kyle - would he have a PR though and presumably the LTA would prefer him to use that if he can?

Quite the opposite in my opinion.  With the number of PRs limited, they would want him to save those for other tournaments by giving him a WC.

interesting one. With the three challengers events, at most they will have 5 to award. got to hope Liam gets himself in directly , the others mentioned (Ryan, Jan, Billy, Ali, Kyle) might then all have a chance of getting one. I doubt Billy was in the conversation until this week!

Billy would have to be ranked one place outside direct entry before he was given a MD wildcard, in my opinion

Ali G is, obviously, reasonably likely (if justifiably possible) as he is on the the LTA Pro Scholarship programme (or whatever the name of it is) and so it's self-serving for the LTA.

Ryan's great grass performance last year makes him a good candidate.

Outside chance: Arthur Féry (or even Jack PJ)

Normally Id say yes, but with his injuries and form , and ranking fall, i would probably expect a qualies wild card.

anyway, Ive hijacked the thread. Sorry !
