Sonay did well to get there in the end, good win but could have finished it more straightforwardly.

Looks like all second round matches tomorrow so surely must be a Saturday final.

And that Eliz edged her match

Ella and Anna were never at the races

Talia and Maia was a tight all-Brit match so nothing really to say

The only one with any regrets, for us, is Eden's .....

Tennis Scotland have a flyer on their Facebook page that says it is 12 - 18 February, which is backed up by the dates on the LTA's WTT schedule so it does look like a Saturday final and the LTA "preview" article is wrong in saying the singles final is on Sunday. Which all makes more sense.

Good win for Sonay against a potentially tricky opponent.

Fair play to Heather I guess for being willing to play at this level to claw her way back up the rankings, but against this field surely anything less than the title will be a big disappointment?

I've no idea, of course, but I don't think that Heather is doing this primarily to claw her way back up the rankings - otherwise she'd be playing W25s in other countries.

I think she may like Glasgow, or whoever's organising it, or have had a hole and Katy Dunne (or someone) said why don't you come up and play? And it seemed like a nice idea....

But, yes, she's got to be aiming for the title, absolutely.

Heather needs to reach the SF before she gains any points - and even winning the title will only give her around 10 places. So I doubt that rankings really come into the equation. More likely match practice and confidence are the aim.

Yeah I imagine it's some court time before she heads across the Atlantic for Austin, and Indian Wells if she gets in?

And not that the event is being advertised at all, but she is popular/known and it's always lovely to see the support and recognition she gets (as well as Michelle ha). Scotstoun is a council run leisure complex so you have people just in for a swim or to use the gym, or oldies for the cafe, who might pop their heads into the tennis courts for 15-20mins when they see the posters and then if they see she's playing stick around.

She's good with the kids too in terms of saying hello, photos etc... altough it's been half term so not many around.
