 A lot of people have been defending Fran and of course she should take the cards if offered, and of course the scores don't always reflect the match etc etc 

But I think you've got a point telstar, simply in that there are a lot of players of roughly Fran's level, and you can ask whether the wildcards could be more evenly distributed.

After all Fran has a very mediocre juniors ranking too (and not for the wont of playing - she's played a whole lot of events) 

And she didn't do very well in the GB Nationals (got knocked out in qualis in the U18 by Mia) 

Which is not to criticise Fran at all but it's not suprising telstar raises the question

I think to be fair a lot of the alternatives that would have got wildcards aren't available with most of them playing overseas. Also, what we don't know is who signed in. It might simply be that Chesca, as she's known, got a WC because the qualifying WCs have gone to the next Brits to sign in.

Oh maybe I will go along after all! Stronger draw this week, if Heather does get last Sramkova she'll likely get Ferro.

And a tricky opener for Sonay but hopefully she can come through. Interested to see how Ella gets on, not a bad draw for her, the Swiss girl was lucky to get last Dani.

I decided not to go looked at the entry list and as Chirico and Burrage withdrew I felt the standard was not great. Unfortunately living in the Highlands it's too late to change My plans but really hoping Heather does well and Anna Brogan too

whilst Eliz has taken the first set 6-1

Eliz missed a break point early-ish in the second and sort of went walkabout but the Danish kid has a nice game. Into a third.

As expected, the Danish girl started off the third set well, playing free, hitting through the ball

And was pretty quickly up 4-1

But Eliz hung tough, the Danish player tightened up, overcooked a few shots, and now it's 4-4
