That feels like like such a waste. What should have been a guaranteed 8 points for one of our girls ends up being gifted to a LL loser after just 11 minutes of play. Why would someone accept a WC if they weren't fit to play - thereby depriving someone else of the opportunity? I do understand that injuries and illness occur but this feels all wrong somehow. And the no 10 Q seed seems very lucky to have got in to the main draw when there were 4 higher ranked losing seeds including Emily at Q8. What a frustrating day to be a British tennis fan.

Not sure any blame can be placed on Katy as she came through 2 qualifying rounds to get to the main draw. Not sure why Beth would leave it until the morning to withdraw. Just hope for both its not too serious as they have had such a bad run with illness and injury

3 of the seeded second round quali losers probably left after their defeats on Monday. Ms Gimbrere and Ms Appleton were due to play dubs today so would have been nearby when Beth withdrew. Maybe there was a draw between them which Emily lost?

The order of lucky losers is decided by a draw of all FQR losers with a WTA ranking.

Would the draw have been made on Monday?

I expect the other girls left, and hadn't signed in to the lucky loser list. Would there even have been a list and a draw before any withdrawals ?

Jasmine was 6-2 3-1* up against her Czech 18 yo opponent ( WR 205, JCH 21 )

Pity she couldn't hold on but it still looks to have been a very good effort.

I refer to my comment in the mens about Sunderland being a bit rubbish overall. Players maybe turned up and thought nah Im not getting injured here. Would love to hear some comments from players about it.

Great win for Eliz and Andre. Now through to the semis as Katie was injured in the singles so she and Lauryn have had to withdraw.
