Looks like doctor and physio arrived now. I didn't see what happened as it is at the far end.

That's not great. Hope it is nothing too serious.

Danielle has just beaten Talia, so quite a few of our lower ranked players have picked up 3pts

Poor poor Fran, on her first match back after a year, just awful - needing support to walk off court. Looks like right leg. Katy packing her bags for her.

Looks like Katy has been left not only to pack Fran's bags but no-one else available to carry them. Video stream, now stopped.
Well done Katy for helping where you could.

They appear to be having difficulty getting ready.

Instead of 6 matches starting at 10, 3 started on time, one is about to start and 2 are to start at 10:30.

Of the three women's matches 2 started on time but Abigail's match was put back and the players will have to come back to try again

The reality - in Sunderland for a W60. 8 indoor crts. 2 out of action cos roof leaks. Other being used but line judges doubling up as floor mop people. 0 deg inside - spectators - no practice courts. Oh & a M25 event on also. Shambles. realitytennis.WordPress.cm at Silksworth Community Pool, Tennis & Wellness Centre

It's not that much different from quite a lot of other events around Europe though.

The temperatute is the temperature in winter - I've had to wear ski wear for certain French events I've been involved in.

And leaking roofs is bad but reasonable that the line judges would also mop floors in between points (again, I've seen umpires do it, so line judges is at least one step up from that)

Oh poor Fran.... :::(((

And congrats to Dani - she's been playing increasingly well in the past few months - she was a good outside bet here - I'd like to see her really get her act together - at least to get well inside the top-1000, which is where she should be

 Extraordinarily I saw Katy performing the same comforting and bag-carrying role against Sofia Samavati who suffered a severe injury against her at Loughborough last October. Katy came across as a top human being on that occasion and it sounds like she has done the same today.

Yes - I've been to lots of venues in the UK and Shrewsbury had leaks, Liverpool and Wirral had leaks and they were all freezing cold.

No practice courts is disappointing, but not surprising. It will get better later in the week.

 Sorry but I, for one, do not agree. Just because conditions can be bad elsewhere does not mean that it's ok to be shambolic. A venue should not be allowed to hold a winter tournament if there is no heating. Similarly the lack of even one warm up court at 60k level is appalling.  If necessary the qualis draw size should be limited to 24 so that two courts can be reserved for warm ups or only a mens or a womens event should be held. I wonder what time the leaking roof was discovered? Surely it should have been seen by 9 am when there would be enough time to mop up. So yes-players and parents and spectators should moan and do so loud and long!

Saw some of that match between Katy and Emily at Chiswick. Katy was top seed ranked around 300, and Emily was a young Wildcard. (Harriet was second seed)
