PoS Round One Dec 9-11 PoS Semis Dec 12-14 PoS Final Dec 15-17
You may wonder about wildcard nominations? In essence, the process of using PoM votes and year end rankings to create the field for the player of the season could leave some gaps where someone deserving doesnt make the cut. So, as per real tennis events, we have a chance to put forward nominations to join the PoS field from those who havent made it. We currently have 20 players in PoS, 2 likely other players from year end rankings etc and up to 4 from the PoM votes in Oct and Nov. Depending on where we land, we will top the field up to 28 players in total with wild cards - probably 2 or 3 of them. So will nominate them and have a wild card nominations vote as well before the main PoS vote commences.
The PoS vote will be three rounds: Round 1 - 4 groups of 7 - 3 to qualify for the next round from each group; Semis- 2 groups of 6 - with 2 from each group to move forwards; Final - 4 players left to battle for Player of the Season

Including tied results, we have had 42 players/pairs win player of the month , 24 women and 18 men.
4 of the Pom titles have been won by juniors - Hannah K twice, Hep O and Henry S.
In terms of Player of Season, here is the updated qualification list so far: 20 places are secured now (see numbers after names). Katy Dunne, with Liams qualification as PoM RU this month, moves into the box seat as the top 3rd/4th finisher over the year, but it is very tight for that route in!! Naiktha and Maia lead the womens doubles pack, but that is still wide open

Of the 20 players qualified so far for player of the season vote, 11 are men and 9 are women. 3 of the field are juniors so far (Hannah, Henry and Mark Ceban) and 3 are wheelchair players. Just 1 player is a predominately doubles player (Neal).
Something of interest - since player of the month started in 2020, we have had 3 player of the season winners: Joe Salisbury (2020) , Emma R (2021), Jack D (2022).
Since winning their respective player of the season award , none of them have won a single player of the month award since. Not one.
Just means we have a gift for rewarding their peak.
I do hope that Emma and Jack in particular have not passed their peaks. More minor summits ( sharp upturn as it was for Emma ) on the way to their peaks?
Thanks to Indy for his updated list of titles and here is the tally for the season as we hit end of week 40
Big moves these three weeks, Mimi Xu goes equal top, Ben Gusic-Wan onto 5 wins and equal 3rd, as does Luke Johnson. Grace Chinwike, and Jamie Murray, go onto 4. With 8 weeks left in the counting season for Player of the Season, in theory anyone could top this but realistically a lot of players are very much in the running!
Player WINS Alfie Hewett 6 Mingge Xu 6 Benjamin Gusic Wan 5 Brooke Black 5 Hannah Klugman 5 Luke Johnson 5 Mark Ceban 5 Charlie Robertson 4 Emily Appleton 4 Gordon Reid 4 Grace Chinwike 4 Hannah Read 4 Henry Searle 4 Jamie Murray 4 Johannus Monday 4 Maia Lumsden 4 Marcus Willis 4

Updated to show Mimi as having the most titles provisional position (as Alfie is already qualified and they are equal on 6).
also , Naiktha as provisional doubles number one without Maia , as they are clearly more than just a pair and whichever Player tops the list deserves solo recognition.
indeed, Maia could top that list herself next week, and Mimi could also top the junior girls list tomorrow / next week as well. Lots going on!

Charlie Robertson moves to 5 titles and it is going to be an interesting final 6 weeks between a fair number of players who could top this little league - Charlie has won 3 itf juniors singles, 1 doubles (todays title) and the nationals doubles back in April to accrue his 5.
