United Cup

Dan drops the first set 3-6 but has the early break in the second 2-0'

He's going to have trouble with Kubler - this is the guy that beat Dan in straight sets at Wimbledon in the first round earlier thus year

 5-5 in the second set

I hoped I'd jinked Kuber when Dan pulled out a 5-0 lead, but he failed to serve it out twice and lost the tie-break and the match.

Probably best if Jonny DOES play the doubles

Is it the top 2 teams from each group that go through or just the top team?

Just to add- there are 3 teams in each group and as TA says the top team goes through to a last 6 play off. There are 6 groups in total, 2 in each venue. The winner of GBs group plays the winner of the other Sydney group in those last 6 play offs. The 3 city play off winners go to the semis. The team from the 3 city losers with the best overall record joins them in the last 4.

crazy complicated - what have 18 teams and cause a rod for their own backs?

Well I am going to be a total pessimist and say we haven't a hope of getting out of this group and Spain and USA will be 2 of the 4 teams contesting the semis.

Depends how fit Nadal is. Can't see Dan winning, but Dart and Swan have a chance.

I'll go the other way, and be the total optimist and say the GB team are in it to win it. The way Katie was so fired up in her match, I bet she didn't hear a word that Tim said to her, she was ready to go toe to toe! I think I heard the commentator in that match say that someone had been feeling a bit unwell the last couple of days, and think it might have been Dan?

Does anyone know, do we play next against Spain or do Spain play the Aussies?
