Interesting that Anna Brogan is staying in Bulgaria and missing her home 60k where she would be comfortably in main draw. Theres got to a story as to why she is staying clear of home tournaments. Another LTA fallout? Surely more points available as well as Glasgow is looking like a good chance for points for Brits. Likely going to be double figures in the Main Draw once WC and qualies are over.
Shed be comfortably in qualies, not main draw, although sure shed make it in anyway one way or the other. It might just be a case of wanting to pick up points rather than potentially losing first round to a top 200 player which is more feasible in Glasgow.
There are only 19 players ranked in the top 300 for Glasgow and still more to drop out. The only top 150 players as it stand just now are Brits, so still an odd choice from Anna.
Also interesting to see Sarah Beth choose to go to Canada for a few weeks as well.
It wasn't an active choice by Anna not to play Glasgow. She left herself in Glasgow and Bulgaria. As she was in the main draw in Bulgaria and qualifying in Glasgow at the withdrawal deadline, she was withdrawn from Glasgow by the system.
Eden also choosing to stay in Portugal for 2 weeks instead of coming back to Glasgow. However, she hasn't played in a while so maybe wants to play herself back in first.
In any case, there's a huge profusion of good level tournaments at this end of the year (in stark contrast to some very barren periods earlier), so it's just good to see everyone playing at this level.
