CD - you watch and follow the juniors more closely than me for sure! We had Jack PJ and Matilda in decent ranking positions last year, top 20 for Jack, not far off for Matilda. Do you see any of the current crop getting anywhere near those levels this year (and if so, who?) and anyone getting into the slams main draws as of right.
I really dont follow too closely but it seems we perhaps have a temporary gap with few of our players playing just now at that top level of juniors, maybe we will need to wait a little while to see some of the undoubted talent come through and challenge for those junior titles?
It rather depends what the player want to focus on.
After all, Matilda is still a junior. Jasmine is still a junior. If they both devoted most of their energies to juniors, they would be well ranked (fairly safe assumption). And they may well challenge for junior titles (as in Junior Wimbly) without being amongst the top ranked juniors.
However, if fit, I think Eva, Ranah, Ella, Talia, Isabelle and a few others are definitely top-100 players pretty much now, and Mimi and Hep maybe not far off. Junior rankings are just a stepping stone. They're not that important in and of themselves. And a run in the Grand Slams is fun but, again, not much more than that, IMO.

Yep, agreed, that is fair comment. Just curiosity really!
By the way, Jon, and I'll probably be 100% wrong, but I don't rate the 2004 boys cohort very highly - Matt Rankin, Louis Bowden, Patrick Brady - that top group don't fill me with much confidence for the future. Will Jansen has some skills but again.....
(Phoenix - 2005 - is a different kettle of fish, though).

With Liverpool, Oslo and the J2, in particular, contributing this week, there are decent moves outside the top-100, if not yet inside. Phoenix and Patrick are closing in on the top-100. Young Ben Wan ('07) zooms into the top 500.

It would be nice if we could push a few more boys and girls into the top 500 so we can get more direct entries into our home G3s and also give us a nice pyramid for players moving up to seniors. Quite a few of these juniors drop out in their late teens/early 20's.
Especially promoting on the boys side, where it is a lot harder to progress at an early age as size normally matters.
