Entries Week 2 - 10/01/22

Sensible decision to concentrate on dubs in which she has way more chance of making Grand Slams.

The Belgian, Heyman, has withdrawn from the men's main draw, pushing Mark Whitehouse into the top 18 automatic places, and Ryan Storrie and CHarlie Broom into the next two slots that'll get a place if there's no SEs.

Nadia Rawson is now into the women's qualis as of right

I know we don't normally do doubles on here but the early entries for the Bath 25k are up. 5 advanced places for doubles are available.
Ben Jones with Daniel Little
Jonathan Binding with Scott Duncan
Ewan Moore with James Mackinlay
Harry Wendelken with Oscar Weightman
Adam Jones with Toby Martin

On the womens draw, only 4 and only 3 with Brits.
Alicia Barnett with Olivia Nicholls
Eden Silva with Freya Christie
Ali Collins with Emily Appleton

Re the doubles entries,  does the ITF  still accept signing in / entering on site? I'll be surprised if only 4 pairs compete in the draw of a 25k event

I think it is only quite recently they accepted advance entries at this level - I always thought it was on-site sign-in only. It's pretty unusual not to have a full 16 doubles draw.

Its only open to 7 teams for advanced entries. Rest on site or WC.

Thanks, Madadman, I knew it had changed, but hadn't seen that article.

Bath - 11 GB men already in main draw, expect that to increase. 4 wildcards and a hat full of qualifiers
6 GB ladies already in main draw, again, I'd expect that to increase, 4 wildcards and a hat full of qualifiers

Plenty of points on offer especially with quite a few seeded.

3 vacancies in qualifying to the womens 25K, 2 of which have been from Jizel Matos Sequeira Fernandes and Olivia Nicholls withdrawing yesterday should mean Eva Shaw gets moved up into qualifying. Interesting that she has chosen not to travel to Australia to play the junior warm up event and Junior Australian Open where she would have been in the main draw for the J1 and qualifying for the Junior AO.

Lots more late drop out on the Women compared to the men for Bath.
Still expecting more drop outs.

Now five in the main draw by right, with fifteen in qualifying (including the top four, so if no SE's there will be at least two promoted). And that is before wild cards

I notice that Lily is now a late withdrawal from Bath meaning Beth is now second seed and Emily A in the main draw.

 Great

And that means Jasmine and Alice are in the MD too, if no SEs.

There's been a withdrawal in the men's too, so Ryan Storrie is now in the MD as of right.

That Bath W25 is looking very weak compared to normal times and the foreign invasion.

Some players getting into the MD would often in the past be faced with tough mstch-ups in QR1 against pretty well ranked players.

Hopefully some of our players will have very profitable weeks.

 Yes, really weak.

And the fact that players like Carla Nokes and Jessica Matthews have made it into qualis for a 25k, as of right, is pretty amazing....

With lots of players in Aus and lots of players affected by covid, I am not surprised.
