I thought it worth adding here this relevant part of my recent post in the W60 Lexington thread:

"Also interesting as a guide to how things are currently shaping up in our 2022 predictions contest ( with all pre 2022 points due to be out of the official rankings by this year end ) with in particular Emma clearly very much closer to the pack for 2022 points only.

2022 points as at 08/08/22 :

1. Emma 499
2. Harriet 436 ( plus net 19 from coming week Q )
3. Jodie 372
4. Heather 371 ( plus net 0 from coming week Q )

5 Katie B 338
6. Sonay 279
7. Katie S 237
8. Lily 193

9. Eden 156
10. Anna 78
11. Beth 65
12. Eliz 60 ( plus 6 from last week's W25 )"

 

Jodie has clearly been particularly on the charge in recent months after early year doubts ( where might she end up? ) and Katie Swan has clearly had a major boost this last week.

So with the post-USO rankings we have probably all been expecting a shake-up in the points. Well there are changes, but not very big ones.

Well the closing rankings of 28/11/2022 have been published, so the competition is now closed.

Congratulations to Coup Droit who made a late charge to finish a clear winner mainly because they were almst spot on with half of the players world rankings, outscoring everyone else by quite a distance. A mention for Bolt, brittack and Steve J who tied for second place.

Pretty much everone lost points due to the absence of Sam Murray and Fran Jones this year, although some of the subs scored well (CD scored maximum 10 points for predicting Beth as GB10 and WR330).

I do intend to tweak the rules for next year to make it easier to score on the ranking preditions.

Graph and player rankings to follow in later posts.
