ITA Mens Championships

Excitement in the doubles as Brit pairing of Toby Samuel/Connor Thomson (South Carolina) were pitted against Cleeve Harper/Eliot Spizzirri (Texas). Samuel/Thomson looked in focused form as they found themselves with a first set lead after a 6-2 performance. Having only lost one set on their way to the semifinal matchup, Samuel/Thomson looked to keep it that way as they managed to hold on to their break and lead in the second set. South Carolina would hold for the set at 5-4 and book their trip to the Finals with a 6-4 second set victory.

Maxs run comes to an end:
In singles, we saw Georgia send two of the remaining four players into the semifinal matches, Philip Henning against Brit Max Basing (Stanford). The match started off in tight fashion with 7-5 first set victory going to Basing. Philip Henning, the Georgia senior, had not lost the first set of his main draw matches all tournament until today, but he did not let that hold him back. Henning would go on to win the second set with 2 straight games at 4-4. In the third and decisive set, Henning would race out to a quick 5-1 lead, eventually taking the match with a final set score of 6-3.

 Well done them - wasnt Toby Samuel doing well in some of our domestic futures events in the summer, I seem to recall he did well to win the Roehampton M25 on grass.

Amelia Rajecki & Nell Miller take the win 6-1 6-2 In the ITA Womens Doubles Final smilesmile for North Carolina State

This means that Nell has done a championship doubles double with 2 different partners - partnered Jaeda Daniel (a US player who looks like she's hanging out in Europe at the moment, trying out the lower levels of the pro tour) in the NCAA Div 1 Championships to wrap up the summer season in style. That's a great achievement for Nell smile

The Carolinas have swept the doubles !!! 

Its the start of the ITA D1 regional championships In Division I, regional doubles champions and regional singles champions and finalists qualify for the season-ending ITA National Fall Championships. Lets hope our recent success can continue smile

WACO, Texas Baylor men's tennis wrapped up the ITA Texas Regional Championship on Tuesday afternoon with Finn Bass winning the singles title.

Other Brits in the draw were Rahul Dokia, Jake Fearnley and Lui Maxted who was runner up in the doubles.

As region finalists, both Bass and Rollins qualified for the ITA Fall Nationals, which will be held Nov. 2-6 in San Diego, Calif.

In the Carolina ITA regional, Nell and Amelia were seeded one but went out in the semis to the eventual winners, in a champions tiebreak cry

ITA Mens Southern nationals

Singles Semifinals- tough match for freshman Roan who had to take on his team mate in the semis

Alabamas Enzo Aguiard vs Roan Jones for a spot in the championship match. Aguiard won 6-3, 6-1 which snapped a 10-match winning streak by the Alabama freshman
