The TCU line-up last night - Jack's first appearance - and three out of six players are GB !
good stuff - interesting to see Jake Fearnley is listed at #1. Presumably that is based on college rankings - would those who are in the know on these players rate Jake F ahead of Jack PJ (and Lui Maxted?).

On CTR (college tennis ranks) you can search the teams to see the list of players UTR. Thats often how the line up plays (with TCU, player UTR doesnt track team position). However Freshmen such as Jack can come in with a high UTR which drops whilst at college.
In my experience the coach sets the line up, but Im not sure about any ranking/UTR rules. If players keep winning and avoid injury, they keep their position. I know one player who sat on the bench for two years, even though by UTR he should have played singles middle of the line up. According to his mum, the coach didnt like him.
Jack (Freshman) UTR 14.2
Jake (Junior) UTR 13.5 D1 singles rank #17.
Lui (Sophomore) UTR 13.05 Lowest on the team.
Link below to mens D1 singles and doubles rankings for 8th Feb. Max Basing #4, Toby Samuel #11, Connor Thompson #12, Jake Fearnley #17, Johannus Monday #18, Arthur Fery #43, Finn Bass #44, Ollie Tarvet #102. Hopefully Ive not missed anyone out!

Interesting CD, nice to see so many Brits.
I was wondering on the record for numbers of Brits on a team and think it must go to Drake 2017-2018, with 8 Brits! Ben Clark, Ben Stride, Viney Gillespie, Barney Thorold, Ben Wood , Tom Hands, Callum MacGeoch and Freddie Powell. Drake fell out of favour with the Brits allegedly due to the coach not delivering on scholarship promises. Link to one case that went to court below.
Colleges with 3+ Brits on the roster
TCU(Big12) Jack Pinnington Jones, Jacob Fearnley, Lui Maxted, Luke Swann
Memphis (American Athletic) was another Brit stronghold and currently has David Stephenson, Oscar Cutting and Harry Rock.
Delaware (Colonial Athletic) James Wilkinson, Euan Mackenzie, Tobey Lock
South Carolina (Southerneast) Toby Samuel, James Storey, Connor Thompson
please add to the list if you know of any Ive missed. Added Luke Swann
Thought it might be good to see exactly which British players are playing US D1 tennis this year and follow their progress over this academic year.
On the Womens side I know of these players with their present singles UTrs . If I missed any let me know so I can add them. On the mens side I dont have so much knowledge so if anyone else wants to take that on that would be great.
EDIT: List updatEd to include Destinee and Millie. Apologies to them !
Nell Miller 10.17 North Carolina State
Amelia Rajecki 11.02 North Carolina State
Angelica Blake 10.95 Stanford
Alicia Dudeney 10.62 Florida
Grace Piper 10.15 Southern California
Indiana Spink 9.98 Arkansas
Erin Richardson 9.24 California
Myah Petchey 10.05 Oregon
Holly Staff 10.55 Vanderbilt
Kylie Bilchev 10.46 Georgia Tech
Olivia Peet 10.02 Texas Tech
Esther Adeshina 9.92 Tennessee
Charlotte Russell 9.01 Tulane

Sofia Johnson 10.25 Tulane
Sally Pethybridge 9.43 Portland
Millie Bissett 9.86 Florida State
Destinee Martin 10.06 TCU
For the National Fall Championships, I think the only player who qualified for singles is Angelica Blake . In doubles Sally Pethybridge, Alicia Dudeney, Nell Miller and Amelia Rejecki all qualify.
for the upcoming National Indoor Championships Only Angelica Blake and Holly Staff have qualified through Stanford and Vanderbilt respectively.
Good luck to all of them ! UTRs updated 9-2-23
Round of 16 indoor nationals
Good performances by the British girls .
Angelica beats a ranked opponent 6-0 6-2 and also gets a 6-2 win at #1 doubles
Holly wins 6-1 in the 3rd in her singles
unfortunately for the girls to no avail since both Stanford and Vanderbilt lose overall. So on to the consolation event for both girls.

Angelica ended up with 3/3 wins, all against ranked players and 2 wins , 1 unfinished in doubles. She was definitely Stanfords stand out performer for the event and will continue her rise in the rankings.
Holly had a great first day and had a good struggle against Angelica on day 3 , going down in 2 tight sets. Shes an unbelievable competitor.
Along with Amelia Rajecki these British players lead the way !
yesh, the BBC also ran a similar story. There are a couple of comments in the Delray Beach thread on it; beat Jack Sock last night and plays Giron in the last 16 today. His ranking will jump to at least mid 500's it appears.

Friday: TCU sweep into the quarters beating Baylor 4-0. TCU took the dubs point with wins for #2 Jack P-J +1 and #3. Jake Fearnley +1 vs Finn Bass +1 went unfinished at 5-5. Singles win for #1 Jake F . #2 Jack P-J was up 5-2 in the third set vs Finn B. #6 Lui M was up 5-0 in the third.
S Carolina lose 3-4 to Uni Georgia. S Carolina took the dubs point with wins from #1 Connor T/ Toby S and 2#J Storey+1. S Carolina carried the momentum with straight sets wins from #1 Toby and #2 Connor. Most teams have decent players at the top of the lineup, but many lack depth #3-#6 and this was the case for S Carolina today.
Teams with Brits in still to play are Stanford, N Carolina and Tennessee
