Sounds like she didn't bother with the racquet.

No, she decided to give up tennis and pursue a boxing career instead wink

Be interesting to see where Hannah is placed in the draw in Aldershot.

Not sure where she was placed as such - but she didn't care biggrin

Hannah won the title, 6-3 6-3, beating Given Roach (2005)

The next 2009 girl in the U-18s is 282 places below her, impressive. Hope the strapping under her knees is just a precaution; I don't think juniors should play much on hard courts unless the cushioned variety.

Amazing. What a great experience! Leylah seems like such a great girl too.

So, Hannah Klugman has been confirmed as having a wildcard into Wimbledon qualis

She'll be 14 years and 4 months or so

AND she'll get a WTA ranking - as it gives her 2 points, even if she loses

Which adds to the 9 she's already got, I think.

I was just looking at various players World Tennis Number stats. Hannah's are impressive. Since July 2017 she's played 390 singles matches winning 87% (340) of them. In comparison most of our other top juniors have a winning percentage of 65% to 70%.

Congrats to Hannah Klugman, age 14, who was runner-up in the Wimbledon girls' doubles final, with Isabelle Lacy

She also made the last 16 in singles, beating the 9th seed along the way

From Lamda's rankings page, the huge news for Hannah today is that::

"Hannah Klugman gained a WTA ranking for the first time at WR1095. She is not only the youngest person with a WTA ranking, but the only 14 year old to have a WTA ranking - the next youngest is Julia Stusek who turned 15 on 30 June".

Hannah has just beaten Emerson Jones, JWR 18

(It's the J300 in Canada, which serves as a warm-up for the US Open)

A top-20 win is always a nice moment :)

If we can have 3-4 make the main draw @ Wimbledon next year, I hope that we can take a chance on a couple of our juniors next summer with some MD WCs, all of the other slams do - and the pressure would be off if we had people like KB/ER/JB taking the focus
