She's an average 2.03 at the moment, which is just above evens, and some overseas bookies have her less than 2.00 (evens), although none as the favourite, but it's definitely not just UK interest. Can't help but feel 1.88 looks very big for Brady, but would love to see Emma pull it off, and it would still be a big upset in my mind, even if Emma does crazily end up the betting favourite come Tuesday.

Whats 1.88 in old money then ?. I m more old school 2/1, 3/1... 10 / 1 the field sort, lol. Also any idea what her price was before the cirstea match. At a wild guess 7/4 ?. As you say would love to see he pull it off.

If Emma beats Jennifer Brady then she has a potential rematch in the 2nd round with Shuai Zhang . Zhang has become a regular opponent for our players this summer.Has anybody plotted Emma's potential route to the final yet ?
To be honest, I prefer fractions as well as that is what I have been most used to, but since discovering tennisexplorer, I have kind of used them both equally. 1.88 is just a tiny bit short of 10/11.
Here's a list of her most recent odds directly before the match took place:
She's been the favourite in the majority of her matches since Wimbledon, and to be fair, with 11 wins in her last 13 these past 3 weeks, she's justifying that tag more often than not.

No, but I've plotted her potential path to the throne !

Brilliant
And from there just a short hop and skip to world domination

Harriet took 15 seconds from winning the match to make it to the net to shake hands. Her body gave up the moment she won the match. She was really struggling during the last game, initially shaking her leg then stretching it out inbetween points.
Anyway, she played very well in the 2nd and 3rd sets. Some super shots from her, even a few aces. Fantastic movement around the court, great defence and unleashed her groundstrokes whenever she had the opportunity.
I love Harriet but this really annoys me (at least, I've moaned about other players doing it so have to be consistent).
If that had been the last but one point, her body would have held out for another point. And probably a handful more points, if need be. So it was her mind, not her body (or her mind's control of her body, if you will).
So make your body last out until you shake hands.
THere's nothing more rude, really, in my view, than the poor opponent who's just lost, a match she really wanted to win, that she could have won, and she's gutted not to, and her opponent can't come to the net because she can barely move, so your head is exploding with 'and you couldn't even beat someone on one leg????'
Going to the net would only have been like one more point, probably quicker. Make yourself do it. As you would for a point. And then collapse.

I disagree, I've had 2 occasions where I've focussed on one thing and then once that was achieved I fell apart and lets face it, no player is focussing on getting to the net to shake hands, they're thinking about doing enough to win. My 1st incident was when I had food poisoning and was throwing up pretty much bang on every 30 mins and I was 30 mins from home, managed to drive home, fell out the car and puked on the drive and I refuse to feel guilty because I should've made it to the bathroom. 2nd incident was labour, for some stupid reason I ended up having to drive myself to the hospital, contractions every 10 mins, got in the car for the 25 min drive and didn't have a contraction till I got out the car, then had 2 in very quick succession, the mind is an amazing thing but there is a limit and when you are focussed on one thing and one thing only, once it's achieved you've used up all your mind over matter and your body just takes over.
I don't agree. It's just one point more. It's part of winning.
But I do understand the other view. And, yes, some other players do the same. I've mentioned it about them (And those that dont) so it seemed only fair to mention it about Harriet too.
