I think Rod Laver  doing the calendar Grand Slam will never be matched now.Much the same with Steffi Graf.

That crowd booing Medvedev the whole of the last game was a bit gross though. And I like Medvedev so happy days

I'm not sure that this was quite as gross as it first appears: from the BBC report:

He took on the role of a pantomime villain during his 2019 run, telling the crowd that their boos had given him "so much energy" to win.

The boos may be part of an in-joke.

Doubtful. The USO crowd has form for being gross/trashy (see: Osaka's first slam win).

It really seems pressure and expectation got to Djoko and, also, that desire to be loved that always seemed a bit weird but in fact must be right at his core.

I have never really warmed to him but nonetheless felt for him and also recognise what an amazing career he has had. I am sure he will be back with more slams

It will be really interesting to see who plays what for the rest of this season - the big events are clearly IW, then Paris, then Tour FInals and then Davis Cup...it wouldnt surprise me at all if IW ends up with a really week entry, just in terms of its positioning, and players like Djoko just focus on the year end events after a break. It feels like many of the men are v tired now.
