VDZ is 2 sets up against Schwartzman, I've never heard of him.

You've obviously never taken any notice of Challenger & Futures results on this board when he's played a Brit.  He also lost to Dino in the first round of qualifying at Queen's in June.

C'mon, to be fair he's certainly very far from a well known name even to many ( probably most? ) tennis followers ( though I like the name ). I do take quite a lot of notice of these threads and recognised the name but literally that's it.

Anyway at 2 sets to 1 up and 5-4* he has just had a MP. Saved and went *5-5. Looks a great atmisphere over on Armstrong.

van de Zandschulp was then broken and Schwartzman served out the 4th set.

6-3 6-4 5-7 5-7

Two MPs the lad had.

Played both a little conservatively, but not much.

Looked shell-shocked afterwards.

Now up again though....

van de Zandschulp wins it 6-1.

Dan, that's your QF opponent if you can mount a wee comeback.

Ahh too late!

Always was a tough task made a little harder by covid and some tough early rounds.  Still a great tournament for Dan

Shame for Dan but Medvedev was just too good - looks a good bet for a good go at stopping Djokovic completing the grand slam

Indeed, emmsie.

Dan live 23 which would be a CH that will probably hold.

Cam too live 28 which would be a CH for him though rather more inherited

Wasn't clear what Dan could have done differently that would have had much impact on the score-line, perhaps cut off the down the T serve; even that would have just produced more rallies that Medvedev was more likely to win.
