Week 26 - Wimbledon - London (grass) - women's main draw

I logged onto the wimbledon site and the there were tickets for court 3 - but I wasn't quick enough - Katie Swan and Liam Broady and Shapovalov were obviously a tasty morsel.

However, weather willing, that's a great Monday of tennis - just as I've got some daft family commitment..... :(

 I'm really annoyed with the ticket sales this year. I got Court 1 tickets for Tuesday but usually I'd wait and try and get a ticket once I know who is likely to be playing on what day but that privilege is for Amex cardholders only this year.

There are tickets available at this moment for Court 18 on Monday - and Tuesday as well plus courts 3 and 12. Nothing later in the week right now.

 I've already bought my 2, not allowed anymore

ETA I understand the limit of 2 in the initial sale but once that was done and dusted there shouldn't be a restriction.

Well they have sold out of everything that was available. I'm going to keep checking regularly though, as I wouldn't mind going on Thursday.

 If you have an Amex card they release tickets 10am for play 48 hours later so today tickets for Tuesday will be available at 10am

 I'm tempted to give up my tickets and try for Thursday. I did manage to get 2 Centre Court Tickets into my basket this morning but I don't have Amex and I have already had my allocation so someone down the queue would've been happy today.

C'mon all, why not add more interest to your Wimbledon watching and vote for the likely number of British MD winners across the 5 disciplines - men's and women's singles and doubles and mixed doubles.

Jon's polls have been great, remember particularly the series when we had no tennis at all. Now he intends this to be his last how many MD winners type of poll. Make it a biggee, come join the action.

The link to the poll in the tennis predictions section is :

You have until Monday 11am to vote. But why not vote today, vote now. Time I did so myself. See you there.

Ouch. Big blow for Jo and the tournament. Can't take anything for granted in this era.

Here's the tweet from Wimbledon

Wimbledon
@Wimbledon
Johanna Konta has been withdrawn from The Championships - in line with government legislation she is required to self-isolate for 10 days having been classified as a close contact of a positive test for COVID-19.

Yafan Wang will take her position in the draw as a lucky loser.
