I don't know if anyone looks at the official Wimbledon website for scores, but hilariously a glitch has meant that the Women's Singles Qualifying draw has not been available for anyone to see since they made the draw on Monday - click on qualifiers and it brings the men's qualifying draw up, or go into draws and every draw is listed except the women's singles qualifying. When you think it is their tournament, it is an unbelievable failure to have failed to have sorted this out since the draw was made on Monday afternoon. I thought they would put it right by Tuesday and couldn't believe they still hadn't rectified the problem 2 and a half days later, as I post this in the wee small hours of Thursday morning. No doubt when I wake up tomorrow all will be fine (but it honestly hasn't been working and it isn't my imagination or technophobia this time).

I've been using wikipedia to see how the results are progressing in the draw.

Hi Andy. As RainDelay says, on the qualifiers link it does default to mens singles , but there is a drop down near the top of that draw which you can change to ladies singles qualifying and the draw comes up.

However I agree with Andy this drop down did not work until today. I could not find the ladies' draw anywhere ...until today  Looks like they have finally fixed it. Hwre!

Strange its been working all week for me? also the TNNS app takes you straight to the draw which appears to be the main site.

that said Wimbledon dont appear to have their own app yet, or didnt last time i tried to find one?

I think the app became available over the weekend. There definitely wasn't one during the ticket sale but my friend messaged me to say it was now ready

It's the same every year, I don't think anyone has worked out why yet.

It's pretty plain to me that they have a complete moron in charge, change the person doing the court allocations to a person with half a brain and problem solved

It does seem daft. The televised court should appeal to the audience thats targeted , whether home country or bigger names or whatever. the schedules theyve had dont achieve that at all.

I was thinking maybe they are selling rights to overseas broadcasters and so want some diversity, but it's always such a mismatch of nationalities it's hard to work out a strategy.

Anton is on ct 11 at 1pm  he is the only  brit who will be televised . Agree, the whole streaming allocation is nonsensical,  they probably think Katie S had her 1 showing the other day, can't have her on twice.

I sort of half understoood it when they had spectators.

That is, courts 15-18 are the 'show' courts - they're the ones near the Bank of England clubhouse, with the banks for people to sit on, they get big crowds, people stop to watch walking through, and people can watch more than one match at once. And court 10 (I think it is) is similar - the one at the top end of the big run of courts.

Court 11 is right at the back, no ever passes through there, it's a little bubble of a court, i.e. all on its own. As a spectator, you'd always prefer to be on the bank, than at court 11 (even though it's got proper seating).

Now, maybe they should prioritise TV viewing over spectators because you've got far more potential TV viewers. And that's what you're trying to push. And court 11 is hardly chopped liver, no matter what I've said above.

But every year I've been (which is the last 7 years, not counting 2020 and 2021), that seems to be the philosophy - all the best matches and/or GB matches are on 15-18 and 10.

BUT this year it makes no sense for spectators.

So I can only assume it's for the LTA bods (who also prefer the show courts, because they can see more than one match, all their mates stop to talk as they walk past, they're closer to the clubhouse for drinks, and other really important reasons like that)

I reckon that is probably the reason why the Brits aren't on Court 11 - the beeb must be trying to sell the qualifiers to overseas broadcasters, otherwise we would have a constant list of Brits on Court 11. Everyone is right, that since the BBC started covering the qualifiers live on one court a few years ago (4 or 5 I think), there has been almost no attempt to get the best matches onto the court that they are covering.

Re- the link, that I mentioned for the women's qualifying singles on the official Wimbledon website that was not working - it is predictably working this morning for the first time. It honestly wasn't working like this for the first two and a bit days - I wonder if someone saw my post and rectified it. For those that somehow accessed the draw, I am amazed. If you clicked on qualifiers or just went to the draw section itself, all you had available was a bit called qualifiers, which brought the men's qualifying up and there was then absolutely no drop down to get the women's qualifying up. It was very annoying and it wasn't me, honest, though I am sure all those who know me, would laugh and say different.

One of my funniest moments at being incapable of anything practical came a few years ago camping at Wimbledon, joining the queue early on Sunday morning, with the aim of seeing Monday and Tuesday's play and returning to the tents on the Monday night. My other half (female) suggested pop up tents, as I was having great trouble trying to put up a normal tent on my own each year, so my mate from the Isle of Wight and I split the cost.

My other half did a dummy run in our front room and all went well - she showed me what to do and folded it back into the bag, with some difficulty.

All went reaonably well putting them up at Wimbledon, but the following morning, attempting to take them down and put them in a bag, we ended up with 2 completely broken tents, one totally beyond repair and the other looking like the saddest tent in the queue at Wimbledon - my mate went back home and abandoned the second day and I kind of slept in a half broken up plastic bag, while everyone around me had all their nice pristine ones.

Funnily enough, I noticed a serious gender issue on this - with lots of men appearing to be incapable of putting up tents on their own and lots of women previously unknown to them, gallantly stepping in to help them.

I'm going to backtrack a wee bit here now that the layout has been explained. Here is an interview with Katie yesterday www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/news/index.html and it is mentioned that she had support from players I assume some of which are there training. Nice interview but shame it is ruined by the interviewer

Katie S 3-0 up, Naiktha 3 down - mixed fortunes for the Brits. Watching Rodionova v Frech on the BBC (Katie S's next opponent if she wins) and hoping it is an extremely long 3 setter.
