I see Anisimova withdrew in the top half, given Claire Liu a walkover to the QF.
Not sure whether that's a 'one and done' type scenario, or if she picked up some sort of niggle. Bit of a shame for young Robin Montgomery drawing her in R1, but someone had to. I guess on paper it's levelled the playing field a bit for the event. 3 seeds remain.

Thanks Deucebag. In truth that article rang a bell but I'd totally forgotten about it if I had seen it or similar before. Anway still probably best not to make comparisons in such things as it can at least be misinterpreted. Let's stick to Katie here ...
That's Indy getting you mixed up with another poster dodrade, not a nickname for you. I think anyway...
Thanks Double Fault Ventura, I can have trouble with names and that could well have been misinterpreted! Original corrected. Edit - Oh and now AV's post edited out. Hey ho

Haha, I edited my post as soon as I saw your edit, but yeah, a potentially unfortunate name to get mixed up.
Mind, I didn't actually realise Deucebag was part of the initial conversation when I posted.
A second win for Katie S - just got back from work to find that out; fingers crossed she can go further still - the ranking points will be useful and the wins should be giving her a much needed confidence boost about her current form.
Looking like 3rd seed Zarazua in the SF tomorrow who is currently up and set and double break against the most recent US Open girls winner. She could be of interest in the Fed Cup later in the year, assuming that Mexico tie gets played.
