A certain Andy Murray, who has admitted he is not enjoying his tennis at the moment, decides to give up singles to prolong his career and give himself a new challenge and becomes Neal's new doubles partner.
Pretty long odds if you ask me - but not impossible.

And then you woke up Bob, and the butterflies flew off into the burning sun!
Harri Heliovaara has said in his blog that Neal will play with Santiago Gonzalez next year. Harri is going to play with John Peers. He said Joe & Rajeev decided after Wimbledon to split next year but with subsequent success they're staying together.
Ken played with Gonzalez in 2020, got to last 8 of Aussie Open! But then Covid got in the way and they moved off. So suggests Neal knows him pretty well, which might be a good thing.
Reading Harris blog, he was v keen to partner Neal next season and waited two weeks to get an answer - Neal and Louis Cayer seemed supportive but Neal held off committing; Gonzalez decided to drop his commitment to Peers and Neal and he joined, and Harri went to Peers, for an initial 3 months.
Harri at one time in his blog comments on him and Peers getting into Paris but Lloyd missing out with a emoji with it suggesting laughter - dont like that sort of gloating although I may have misunderstood!
Just read that Koolhof is retiring at the end of the season. Maybe he knew this when he split with Neal and just wanted something fresh for his last year on tour
I dont speak German but this is the article Wikipedia points towards
The key point in the article was that he regarded winning the Wimbledon title last year with Neal as the achievement of his life's dream, following which he felt as though a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

Ties with wanting a fresh approach in his final season - maybe he and Mektic are best mates still and wanted that final go together
Looks like Neal has potentially been dumped - again! Gonzalez back with Roger-Vasselin in Barcelona whilst Neal is with Dodig. Roger-Vasselin was partnering Mahut but Mahut ranking has fallen and they will not get into the Masters as it stands. No sign of Austin Kraijcek this week who Dodig normally partners.
So unless Dodig is permanent potentially goes with Harri Heliovaara or one person I would love our players to consider is Adam Pavlasek - formally a top 100 singles player - he plays very welll but seems to be committed to playing with Behar at the moment.

Harri looks like he is going with Henry Patten, or is that just a one off?
Krajicek is with Rajeev Ram in Houston this week, presume that is a one off on home soil.
not displeased with Neal and Gonzalez splitting, if they are, it hasnt worked. Mind you, not many of the British pairings are working right now!

If Harri gets a chance to play Neal he will surely take it to get him into the bigger events - he can still play the 250s he has committed to with Henry but play the Masters with Neal.

Kraijeck and Ram just Olympics practice Im sure.
All the normal, top, pairs seem to be in Monte Carlo together, I guess Madrid will tell us more?
Pavlasek, I also like him. Didnt he take a break for a few seasons, started playing club tennis and someone persuaded him to try the tour again in doubles?
