On a serious note, if anyone has contact with Andy or his team, can they please get him to go and see a foot specialist (can't remember the technical term).
I know a couple of professional footballers who had "undiagnosed" back problems which lead to cramp and various other leg problems which were solved by getting specially fitted soles in their boots.
The problem might be in the feet, which then leads the legs and back to try and compensate.
I doubt he'll withdraw from Estoril, in his interview yesterday he said he would play there and I doubt he'll turn down the opportunity of being seeded for the first time in an ATP event.
I guess we'll find out more when the post-match interview with Andy is posted on the Barcelona site.
There's a guy who sells Aloe Vera healthcare products who keeps emailing me and asking me to tell Judy Murray about them urgently, I've just had another email from him, lol

- You're searching for the word "Podiatrist" - I had three knee operations from Rugby injuries and then just from running/walking/living until I saw a podiatrist who fitted me for insoles ("orthotics"). Worked a treat - I ran the four peaks race in 2000 with no problems! If I'd had the orthotics as a schoolboy rugby player, maybe I'd have avoided the injuries, and not had to give up in my early 20s...........

The cramp problem may solve itself as he matures. The serve won't solve itself!
Agreed, but if the cramps are more than just fitness related, they could be far more serious. Potentially it's a career threatening (and worse still long term health) problem. Not wanting to sound alarmist, but they urgently need to find the cause of this problem.
Let's hope it's just a lack of fitness and with more games he'll get better. If it's more serious, more games will make him worse.

Thanks for backing me up RobC, your case is exactly the sort of thing I'm speaking about. It's the sort of thing that no-one thinks about until it's too late.
Happy to help, Keith & mkkreuk. Although I'm sure Andy's traing will involve sports injury/biomechanical analysis, which will mean they'd know to look for that sort of thing.
Madeline wrote: Ah well. I hope they can get this cramp problem sorted pronto. Think I'll avoid the BBC board for a day or two, the bashers will be out in force about his "lack of fitness".
He did better than I expected - much better - until that happened.
Amazingly the bashers are still inactive, however the current main topic of onversation is: "Is Roddick gay ?" - and it has around 50 replies !!

Hope you're right Rob, but I have my doubts. And my experience from other sports is that if an athlete has a back problem, they go to a back specialist who only know what to do about backs. It takes someone from a different viewpoint to work out it might not be a back problem, etc..
