I think it must be cramp if he's having his lower back massaged - last year when team Murray investigated Andy's cramping problems the specialist they saw said that he had a weakness in his lower back which caused the cramp - maybe he's thinking that a different method of massage which help to tackle it.

DF: ace 15-0, backhand called wide by umpire 30-0, drop shot works well 30-15, forehand down the line winner off return 30-30, backhand down the line winner off return 30-40 break point no.1, return out deuce, forehand pass after running for drop shot ad DF, forehand cross court winner 5-1

Do we really have to repeat the same old story.

Fitness and first serve.

There is no doubt Andy has the game, and is only 18. But these are two factors that need to be sorted out as soon as possible.

AM: backhand down the line long 0-15, forehand down the line forces error 0-30, net by Murray 0-40, backhand return down the line wide 15-40 backhand cross court pass 6-1


 


Words exchanged by Murray and Ferrer at the end, didn't look overly friendly, not sure what was said though.

Ah well. I hope they can get this cramp problem sorted pronto. Think I'll avoid the BBC board for a day or two, the bashers will be out in force about his "lack of fitness".

He did better than I expected - much better - until that happened.

Encouraging that he got so far. However:

Serving for the match
3-0 up in the tiebreaker
Another attack of cramp?!?

I'm feeling far from encouraged. That was Wawrinka and Lisnard all over again.

I think, but don't quote me on it, that ferrer said Murray suffered from cramps in the third set. It looked like it was, David what you said about his lower back is right, that's what i thought too. Hugely disappointing for Andy that this happens again. What a shame he couldn't finish it in the second set when he served for it though...

Yep, his performance was encouraging I think(bar the serve of course!), and he can't help the cramping. Does he have a week off now?

He plays doubles rd1 with Gimelstob tomorrow and then he's off to Estoril for an ATP event next week
