Haha. What a draw. Semifinalist certain.

What is the h2h between the 2 pairs if any?

One apiece, according to this site.

Back into the top 8 in the live race for Jamie & Neal, indeed up to live 7.

7. (9) Murray & Skupski 1500 + 90 = 1590 - into Vienna QF
8. (7) Melzer & Roger-Vasselin 1580 - in Vienna L16
9. (8) Purcell & Saville 1515 - in Nur-Sultan L16

Dan can do Jamie and Neal a favour in his doubles against ERV and Melzer.

Luke ditto could play Purcell and Saville in qfs.

Kubot and Melo in 11th and Herbert and Mahut a few places further back are the other main ones to watch this week.

Non GB but worth a mention. Ukrainian world number 529(=CH) Vitaliy Sachko managed to get into qualifying as an alt. Then managed a shock victory against Pierre-Hughes Herbert. Anyway I notice he has managed to now get in the main draw as a Lucky Loser. Although now has 2nd seed Dominic Thiem. Making the main draw will be a good pay day though as least!

Both Bruno Spares and Rajeev Ram also got into quals as Alts.

Dan wins the first set 6-4, then Aljas retires at 4-5 on serve. He hurt his hamstring, he had an MTO at the start of the set. It was clearly troubling him. The standard was not quite the level of last week.

Take that win over Bedene however it comes, although a scoreline like that sounds about right - any idea what Aljaz injury was?

All I saw was that the physio was assessing the problem.  I imagine that Dan will have taken a certain satisfaction from that win, given his declared opposition when Aljaz first announced that he was switching his allegiance to GBR.

P.S.  Just noticed that stevemcqueen referred to a hamstring problem.

In general I like your dry sense of humour Vandenburg and tend not to take offense when you are being intentional controversial to stir up conversation..

But in this case, I am sorry, but I don't like the use of the word "traitor" for anyone.
