Looks like Joe and Rajeev have given Jamie and Neal a walkover into the semi-finals.

Confirmation:

QF:  Jamie Murray & Neal Skupski CR 52 (25+27) "defeated" (2) Rajeev Ram (USA) & Joe Salisbury CR 17 (10+7) by a walkover  cry

I sincerely hope that that doesn't mean a serious injury to Joe or Rajeev.

Well, not what we wanted although in the bigger scheme of things, rather that way round than the other. Hope all ok with Joe and Rajeev...

Leg injury for Rajeev is being reported by Mike Dickson

Dan win 7-5, 6-3. The second set would have been much closer if Rodionov had not thrown in a pair of DFs in both of the service games he lost.

Did anybodybody else notice that Dan was drinking meths at changeovers?  And I thought I was an alcoholic!  Anyway Dan, whatever works for you mate!!

No, but it conveniently helps Neal and Jamie with their attempts to get into the tour finals.
Coincidence???

Doesn't help Luke & Rajeev to be the ultimate end of season #1 pair with the accolades that brings. If Krawietz & Mies or Pavic & Soares ( play each other in the QF ) win the title here they will move to within 200 race points of Joe & Rajeev.

Whatever, certainly useful  for Jamie & Neal and let's hope they can go futher yet.

And hope that Rajeev will be OK for Paris and London.

Youre right, I Cant see that they gave the walkover as a conspiracy theory, makes no sense and sort of assumes Rajeev (the injured one) and Jamie/Neal are best buddies!

Not even Chris Goldsmith is taking this angle, I dont think!!

Is that even legal? What's wrong with drinking some water or Gatorade!! Hopefully someone has checked  the contents of said drink and certified it's OK. He doesn't need any trouble now

QF:  Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) WR 20 (CH = 3 in November 2017) vs (SE) Daniel Evans WR 33

Had Dan been facing Tsitsipas (3), whom Dimi has just beaten in three sets, in the quarters, I wouldn't have given much for his chances, but I feel more optimistic now that it will be Dimi on the other side of the net.

Not in the UK it's not:

No person shall put up for sale or supply for medical use any bottle or other container containing industrial methylated spirits unless it is conspicuously labelled For external use only or Not to be taken or otherwise to like effect.

(The Methylated Spirits Regulations 1987, Part III, paragraph 11)

OK, that covers only the supply side & it must be relatively easy to obtain for use as a solvent or a fuel for things like camping stoves, but I can't believe, given his history, he'd be that stupid:  drinking the stuff can cause blindness &, if there's any ethanol in it, death!

Hang on, how do we even know Dan was drinking meths? I know Steve McQueen mentioned it above but is it actually true, is there any evidence, no one else has mentioned it?

biggrin I wondered how this thread would develop !

I've seen plenty of players drinking various coloured liquids -  it seems energy drinks come in 57 varieties nowadays

I caught some of the match and did see Dan drinking some random looking drink. I did wonder what it was but as someone says there are so many sport supplement drinks out there now its hard to know them all. Looking back I guess it could look like meth!
