RE: Week 37 - WTA Premier 5 $2M Rome, Italy Clay

Muguruza has beaten Azarenka in the quarter finals in 3 sets. Next plays Halep who has won both their 2 previous matches on clay.

The SF are:

Muguruza vs Halep
Pliskova vs Vondrousova

Two RG champions, a finalist and SF-ist. Strong showing

Halep takes the title after KP retired in the 2nd set, injury?

Halep must be a contender for RG, if not favourite?

Simona can take the WR1 again if she wins RG - only has 430 points from last year's QF, so can just catch Barty.

Will Pliskova be 2nd seed  in RG ? Hard to imagine her reaching the final.

Yes, it will be Halep 1, Pliskova 2, and Kenin and Svitolina 3 & 4 - depending on whether the points from Rome count or not - I assume not.

All the Rome points are now included in the 21/09 WTA rankings so the seedings will allow for Rome.

So, not that it really matters, Svitolina will be seeded 3 and Kenin 4.
