Both ended pretty much exactly the same time. I guess that's what most would have expected 2 hours ago with a couple of seeds up against a couple of PR's, but good to see Katie fighting and competing with a top 100 player, and she was in a decent position in both sets - Zhu has to twice serve to stay in the first set, and Katie obviously had the break in the second.
Hopefully she still plays, and continues to build next week at the IW challenger.
I mentioned this morning how this field now had a look of an ITF event, but to be fair, while another top 100 seed crashed out, the QFs do have 3 17 or 18 year old recent slam junior champions in X(iyu) Wang, Fernandez, and Potapova, the latter two play each other, so it'll be interesting to see where they all are in a year or two. Hard to believe Potapova is still just 18.
Watsons potential opponents (McHale and Dolehide) are still on in their first set (5-5).
Heather has a 1-3 record against McHale including at Acapulco in 2016. All 4 matches were 3 setters, and in all 4 the winner of the first set lost the match.

Hopefully, Heather can upset the trend and win in 2 sets
