Matilda and Ziva have already won a Grade A title (in Cape Town) defeating Alexandra Eala and her then partner en route. However the Filipino won the Grade A Orange Bowl (but not with Nugroho)

Girls Doubles F

(4) Eala / Nugroho (PHI/INA) v Falkner/Mutavdzic (SLO/GBR)

Matilda's Andorran conqueror has made it through to the semis, and attracted attention as the youngest player in the draw

Thanks for the article. She's the one that we mentioned on here who beat Millie Bissett by a whisker (in a third-set TB) at the recent final at Saint Cyprien.

I didn't know about her father - backs up my old cracked record mantra that the reason the LTA should focus on the pyramid is not for the 'here and now' but for the follow through and knock-on effect.

Matilda's 14 year old conqueror has made the final, where she'll play the Polish 17 year old Baszak.

And the Andorran 14 year-old comes through, and takes the title, in three sets

What a fairy-tale tournament for her smile

And congrats to France too, for dominating the boys' event, providing both finalists, with the top seed (Mayot) taking the title.

It's always more interesting when someone so young wins. The commentator was constantly mentioning about how proud she was to represent Andorra, and hopes to be a role model for even younger compatriots, but with her based in Spain, the geographical location, and the obvious financial benefits, it'll be interesting to see if see switches nationality when she does start her pro career.

Her dad never switched. And he represented Andorra and played for the country. It's rare to have a real 'native' Andorran, they're usually incredibly proud of it. And I don't think she's got any nationality connection to Spain.
So I'm going for 'no, she won't switch' (based on pretty much nothing )

Worth noting again that Millie Bissett only lost be real whisker to her (3rd set TB) a few months ago........but that's another competition, another life....
