Whizzed through the Roehampton final once the 2 WTA RG L16 matches were over (without knowing the score).
Lots of mini breaks in the MTB, the turning point was probably at *7-6 Eliz, when Eliz did this kind of scooped volley and it just about trickled over the net, could have gone anywhere, and Emily then followed it up with a routine shot into the net to open up a 3 point gap for the first time.
They both have a 'Return to Elite' British Tour singles title now.
The draw is out for the latest Roehampton 'return to' event. The entry list has taken a fair bit of a hit since Jon's post 8 days ago where Grace was then 11th - she is now the 3rd seed.
Very similar field to last week, but no Emily Ap this week and Nadia comes in as a top 4 seed (4th), meaning Emma W just misses out on a seeding once again. Sofia Johnson is back from her European junior adventures and she takes on top seed and most recent winner Eliz in R1 in probably the stand out match of the first day.
A bit of a surprise with Erin Richardson's result given she did well and got to the final of the Division 1 event of the Progress Tour that was held in June at the NTC. Maybe just a bad day at the office today

I saw a bit of the Eliz-Sofia match on delay, Sofia saved 3 successive MPs to hold at *3-5, and then had 40-15* to square up the 2nd set, but Eliz won the next 4 points. She always seems competitive though, and you'll rarely see her on the wrong end scorelines like most of the first round here. Lara B was an alt and must have replaced Emma Wilson quite late.
The 4 women's matches QF matches are on at 10am tomorrow, and then the SFs after the men's QFs / suitable rest.
