British Tour - 2020

Great to see that a player known throughout junior tennis for appalling behaviour and line calls is now getting just desserts when matches are umpired!

Sofia has been posting some really good results / scores (in defeat) these past couple of weeks, especially for someone not long turned 16. Should have a pretty good chance of making the SF here.

Shame the others, lost to tennis, due to unchecked junior behaviour, left for to play other sports earlier on.
Who knows, they may have been champions but probably lost to tennis forever.

Absolutely spot on, my son walked away in the middle of  a tennis match at the NTC, he decided he'd rather have a bit of fun on the cricket pitch than keep getting cheated out of points and matches. It's just not dealt with at all and some of these kids get rewarded with money from the LTA.  Such a shame but naturally athletic kids can play other sports and get less aggro and have more fun.

In the tournament, the 3 seeds all won in straight sets to make the SF, the other match between Johnson and Olivelle has gone into a MTB, and it's currently *4-3 Sofia J, but she's hit a few DFs.

Edit young Sofia won 2-6 6-3 10-5, so the SFs are set. Emily Ap (1) vs Sofia, Emma W (3) vs Sonay (2).

Emily vs Sonay final. Sonay won via a MTB, and Emily was pushed hard in the first set against Sofia, it was 4-4 *0-30 and Sofia had a big chance to bring up 3 BPs. Too many DFs from her, 13, and a few at crucial times, but another good week for her, and maybe one to keep an eye on given her age. Emily won 7-5 6-1.

Noticed in grade 2 bt, giffnock, in Scotland this week, that anna brogan, is through to final. I didnt know her name so looked her up....just watched Wimbledon interview with her from 2015 when she reached junior Wimbledon qf. Wondered it others on here remember her, I think she may have gone to college in us in between?

Interesting.

Anna looked a fair talent a few years ago. She reached WTA singles 564 in June 2015 aged 17 and WTA doubles 644 in November 2015.

Also in 2015 ( so when she did that interview ) she reached the Wimbledon juniors doubles SF in partnership with Freya Christie. I recall watching them in action - I think they may have been shifted to a show court one evening.

Kind of disappeared from tennisworld sight. Others may know something of the intervening years?
