I mentioned last week on the women's BT thread that it would have been nice to have had Abigail Johnson or someone commentating on those matches, kind of being too optimistic / ambitious, but I see they actually have Abigail AND someone else commentating on the McHugh match here. 2 commentators for that sort of level is unheard of. There's only about 40 watching at the moment, but I suppose Cam playing later might have influenced that.

Ah, sorry Wolf. Didn't see your BBC online comment, but yes, that'll explain the commentary. It'll be similar next week at the Progress event.

is one of the commentators for the mchugh paris match Laura Robson, voice sounds familiar?

I had a look at Abigail's Twitter and she says she is commentating with Rob Curling and Anna Smith over the next few days, so Abigail and Anna now. Abigail will be kind of the more lead commentator, but yes, one did sound a bit like Laura I thought.

 Apologies, who is Abigail, please?!

Don't think she ever played, but just a really good commentator, clearly very knowledgeable. Started off doing little things, and interviews at that Wimbledon warm up exhibition, did a bit of comms for the W60s and updating the LTA Competitions Twitter handle, and this past year she's done more and more WTA tour events, so it's quite nice to see someone who is seemingly mainly a fan, get more and more opportunities.

I'd rather zapped on the fact that Jack P-J is playing here - will be very interested to see how he's developed....

Copied from the wrong thread....

"Now, THAT is what I love about these events - Max Basing will have got himself a LOT of fans (including me) - just going into a MTB against Paul Jubb, no matter the result, it's an really excellent and exciting performance by the junior (who's based in Spain, I believe)."

"And it's called 'rain interrupted' at 9-6 to Jubb in the MTB....... :)

So maybe they move inside? Or wait?

But Basing plays some beautifully timed, forward-playing tennis - very interesting prospect.

NB Also - and just my view - but someone like Jake Hersey, for instance, should look back at the video and see what a TRULY lazy warm-up he played which - not surprisingly - went into the match itself. Unfathomable."

Was watching this, did laugh when the commentator mentioned Max's one handed back hand and suggested that they have seen the success Dan has had with his one handed back hand, err it might be that little known player Federer thats made it fashionable again.

I'm not one to comment on tennis kits, honestly I'm not. But Anton Matusevich is wearing quite possibly the worst kit I've ever seen.

It's bad. Mind you, Wardy has had some bad kits and so did Berdych.
