British Tour 2020

Watching a bit of Cam v Recci at the moment - Cam's backhand seems weaker than I would expect. Very stiff through the body, seems like doublehander is almost not a natural one and his arms dont seem to create much power. Dont know if it is supposed to be a weakness for him but for someone in Top 100 it felt like a shot he needs to work on...

Quite tight so far as well, 3-3-

Yes, it's an awkward shot, isn't it - always has been. It reminds me of Andy Roddick's one slightly - rather straight armed and stiff, as you say.

Great showing by Mason though - fun to watch a bit of that one.

Paul Jubb and Anton Matusevich join Cam and Aidan McHugh in the semis. Good line up.

I'm not one to comment on tennis kits, honestly I'm not. But Anton Matusevich is wearing quite possibly the worst kit I've ever seen.

If it's the same one as he's wearing today, then it's nowhere near being in the same league of God-awfulness as Dino's Ted Baker number, Wawrinka's shorts (FO 2015), JWT's (FO in 2016), Berdych's (FO 2017) or Thiem's/Delpo's (USO in 2017), not to mention those of Dimi (+ his tracksuit), Alexei Popyrin & Kyrgios (shorts again!) at this year's Oz Open.  wink

Cam got a comfortable win over Aidan and moves into the final. Looking like Jubby controlling the other match when I checked in 15 mins ago.

Jubb did indeed go on and win 6-3 6-3

Let's hope the final is a bit closer than the last time these two met.

If your referring to the match at Battle of Brits, the score actually didn't reflect how well Paul played, he played very well, Cammy just played the bigger points better ;).

Inglot & Sailsbury have entered the doubles here, as well as the Indian pair of Prashanth & Sharan.

And Cam with Alastair Gray. Good entry. Sharan is, of course, Sam Murrays husband.

As well as those three pairs, also playing today are Broom & David Stevenson, Ben Jones & Paris, Gibbens & Stoute, Houghton & Patten and Hodkin & Andrew Ponder

First set to Cam 6-1. Just relentless consistency.

More worrying, Paul appears to be limping a little between points. Looks like a right leg problem.

Edit

Just confirmed on commentary that Paul has a groin injury.  Shouldn't risk it. I know he is desperate to play but that type of injury is not to be messed with.

The doubles final:

(1) Dominic Inglot & Joe Salisbury CR 60 (53+7) vs Alastair Gray & Cameron Norrie CR 1010 (1002+208)

Cam & Ali currently lead by 4-1!

Cam & Ali s, but I couldn't quite get my head round the scoring system!  confuse  That 4-1 was the first set to them & they won the second on a tie-break after the games went to 3-3.

Yeah, it's 'fast 4', so basically first to 4 games each set, and a TB at 3-3. World Team Tennis, where a lot of the doubles guys are playing next week do it similar, but theirs is first to 5, so a TB at 4-4.

But in 'normal' tennis, it is clearly first to 6 with a 2 game lead or 7-5 or TB at 6-6. So I understood SC's confusion that the TB was not at 4-4 ( or 5-5 in World Team Tennis ). But I guess that it's up to them ...
