RE: Week 42 - ATP 250 - European Open - Antwerp, Belgium (hard)

Brief comments quoted by Stu Fraser in today's Times:

I think my speed is getting there.  Today I started pretty well.  It was a good day.

Fraser adds that Andy can rise to about N° 180 if he beats Copil today.

First set to Andy 6-3. Looking comfortable so far based on following the live score.

Only 2 players can stop him by beating players they are odds against.

Well its 3, all Japanese players, Sugita if he wins title in Stockholm which is highly unlikely.

Andy was coasting there serving for match he shanks 2 and sends down a double fault. Tennis is a crazy sport, suddenly Copil is 5-5 from 5-2 down.

Copil takes the tie break 9-7, Andy was 5-3 up the most nasty netcord stopped him from having 3 match points. He still had one of the Copil serve but its 50/50 now this match.

Andy and Copil certainly seem to have battles. Pella or Humbert next.

Andy got to be favourite next round, neither of the next two have serves like Copil. My preference for him would be Pella.
