Astonishingly there are a couple of byes in Wimbledon qualifying, suggesting a number of late drop-outs, so no wildcards have been allocated. Sasha Hill has missed out on a main draw wildcard - the most likely candidates being Emma Raducanu, Victoria Allen, Matilda Mutavdzic, Amarni Banks, Destinee Martins, Sonay Kartal, Erin Richardson and Holly Fischer
Sasha got shafted really. But they did the same to Gemma Heath. I don't think it makes any difference long term but it's disappointing. Amazing that any old kid could have turned up and signed in....

Unlike the boys the draw has been relatively kind, with only Matilda drawing a seed (albeit the Nottingham champion)
R1 (L64)
(WC) Sonay Kartal v Annerly Poulos (AUS)
(WC) Emma Raducanu v (Q)
(Q) v (WC) Amarni Banks
Kristyna Lavickova (CZE) v (WC) Erin Richardson
Mai Napatt Nirundorn (THA) v (WC) Holly Fischer
Ane Mintegi Del Olmo (ESP) v (WC) Victoria Allen
(7) Sada Nahimana (BDI) v (WC) Matilda Mutavdzic
Linda Fruhvirtova (CZE) v (WC) Destinee Martins
Sasha Hill beat the Number 1 seed for Junior Wimbledon last week and she was not given a Wild Card into main draw! Sorry but it's laughable!
Onwards and upwards Sasha. Well Done for your great performances last week.
Although I do agree that Sasha certainly deserved a wild card the question I raise is .... who should she have replaced?
When you consider that Emma and Holly have all the LTA love and then look at the other six wild cards then who should go?
Arguably they all have the same right to be there.
Personally I would have preferred players who have been UK trained and developed to be given the opportunity unless there is an exceptional reason otherwise - there are none that I'm aware of this year!
This at least allows the LTA to claim point.
The LTA have often taken the safest route by giving wild cards to players based solely on their junior ITF ranking and even then not necessarily using all the available wild card places.
Last year Sasha also had some great wins at Roehampton plus a $15K singles runner up and $15K doubles semi-finalist ..... and along with other girls failed to acquire a wild card then as well - I think it was only 5 or 6 given out in 2018.
Ultimately I think the LTA were put in a very difficult position this year.
With 7 players ranked from 95-155 it would have been a different discussion about who got 'shafted' if one of those had been omitted.
If Holly Fischer was omitted (which is majorly unlikely unless she was broken) then doubtless she would have felt 'shafted' and the LTA would have chastised for having supported her and not giving her a wild card!
Sadly someone was doomed to being unhappy with the wild card allocation.
The only potential now is for the LTA to find a doubles place for her ..... not quite the same possibly but more than fair.
