Can I ask what folks think of Chris goldsmith. I read his twitter and he clearly is on the agenda of any strange result is fixed and maybe some are. But he often insinuates things that are probably libellous.

Not sure what that Chris bloke is insisting but it sure doesn't read great. Thing is...people were saying about Dan playing after Sunday and if he would be tired. However, Troicki *also* played Sunday - and he didn't sign up for an indoor (hard?) court match.
Those numbers from Jay - not good and definitely suggests being hindered in some way.
Has Troicki ever been rumoured to be tanking matches?

Never followed this Goldsmith guy but I understood he had a reputation as a bit of a w**ker.

But even known w**nkers need to watch what they say at times.

It does sound like Jay has some kind of problem. Which might explain why he wasn't taking the game to his opponent at Surbiton as much as he would do normally. At the time I thought he was being over-cautious, or was nervous, now I wonder if he has a niggle or some kind of illness. But to imply, if that's what he was doing, that a twenty year old in the top twenty in the world for his age group, at the most important tournaments for him in the year might deliberately not be doing his best is extremely unfair.

On a happier note, really looking forward to Jack against Dan. Hope Jack doesn't get overawed. If he doesn't then should be some good rallies. I like the way both of them play, it just seems instinctual and relaxed when they're at their best.

The drawsheet says his retirement was due to a lower back problem, not sure if that is something he has had before ?

I have watched Brydan play lots of times, and 'support' him, in theory, with no real problem about his previous Aussie nationality nor about his previous offensive comment that is now long behind him and 'sentence' served.

But he is SO difficult to warm to on court.

Mind you, still miles better than Chris Goldsmith.....

The thing about tennis or golf or any individual sport is that you cant possibly be 100 percent all the time. Putting aside physical, there are so many mental factors. No one knows what person has gone through the day before, family , relationship worries, financial, fallen out with a friend or just not feeling top dough for many reasons. We often see a strange result and go wow, but it can so often be the person wasnt up for it. They didn't tank, or not try, or fix it. They just weren't there.

Which is what makes the continued dominance of the big 3 or 4 so amazing as , apart from djokos fall away in 2017 was it, they seem to be perpetually up for it.
