Paul gets his ATP ranking back:

L48:  (WC) Paul Jubb UNR defeated Jürgen Zopp (EST) WR 244 by 6-7(7) 6-4 6-4  ban-woohoo.gif

Bit of a wobble in the fourth game (I think) of the decider, but he survived.  biggrin

*****

L32:  (5) Dennis Novak (AUT) WR 113 (= CH) vs (WC) Paul Jubb UNR

L48:  Tobias Kamke (GER) WR 259 defeated (WC) Liam Broady WR 294 by 4 & 5

L48:  Stefano Napolitano (ITA) WR 178 defeated James Ward WR 204 by 7-5 7-6(1)  cry

Ryan Peniston 2-0 up in the final set against Brydan.

Ryan had 3 BPs during the 3rd game but none converted. So he is still just the one break up. *2-1

Overall he has converted 4/14 BPs and Brydan 3/3.

Ryan has played 60 service points, Brydan 92.

So pretty clear who's been under most serve pressure but who will win the final point?

Ryan had 3 further unconverted BPs in game 5.

Converted 1/7 in the set, 4/17 overall.

*3-2

Despite all the setbacks, Ryan clinches it. Well done to him.

L48: (Q) Ryan Peniston WR 681 beat (Q) Brydan Klein WR 354 by 4-6 6-4 6-4

I waa a bit worried that I had set Ryan up for a fall when he went *15-40 down when serving for it in the final game.

Yay re Paul.

Live GB #14, GB race #10 and GB predictions #10 - though doesn't look as if anyone went for him.

Good win to reenter the rankings too. Be interesting to see how he gets on vs Novak.

Add 1 to all of Paul's figures above.

Now Ryan P is live GB #14, GB race #10 and predictions #10 - though doesn't look as if anyone went for him either.

Edit : ah, my prediction contest comments were based on the current ATP points system so not allowing for the 25K and 15K additions coming in August ( and so presumably the prediction contest results will be based on a different system than was in force when we made our predictions ). Similarly, of course, the general ATP rankings and race will get a bit of a shake up in the lower reaches then.

Cracking win, that!

L32:  (Q) Ryan Peniston WR 681 vs (2) Bernard Tomic WR 88 (CH = 11 in January 2016)

What an experience for him to take on the former world N° 11.  Nowt to lose...

Do people who paid money to watch tennis get refunds if they aren't allowed to watch indoors?

Full refund if you get to see less than an hour's non-continuous play, 50% if you see between 1-2 hours.

I tried to watch indoors yesterday and explained that I had a ticket but was still not allowed in so would certainly hope I'll qualify for a refund.

No WTA tennis for your money either (since they don't seemed to have been scheduled at all).

I hope you get your refund!

Jay's struggling. A set and 0-2 down already against Duckworth.

Look like he's retired. Not sure what the problem is. Hope he's okay for the rest of the grass court season.
