Week 24 - Challenger (€137,560+H) - Nature Valley Open, Nottingham, Great Britain (grass)

It looks like rain all day today, presumably they will need to move indoors if no play on grass today, possibly from tomorrow.
Presume they aim to get a complete section of draw on same surface. Or the whole round to ensure some degree of fairness?

Not surprisingly, Paul Jubb looks miles more at ease on an indoor hard court than he did on grass.

On serve. Holding his own really well.

Evan is a break down.

Looks like Indoor Court 2 is acting like the show court, at least for streaming purposes, dont imagine they have many spectators in the indoor courts?

Extremely close but a little lack of experience saw Paul lose the tie-break 9-7 (having had a SP but Zopp served a service winner so no real regrets there.....)

There is a supporter/or coach shouting  encouragement to Paul, calling him Jubby, seated at camera end, so unable to see him. Nobody at other end at all.

Looks like the entire mens schedule pretty much is now indoors for today (11 matches, presumably the other 5 will also go) so should complete the mens first round today, indoors at least.

Not sure what WTA tour level rules are about using different surfaces for events (or ATP full tour) presumably it is down to discretion of Tournament DIrector/Referee?

Do people who paid money to watch tennis get refunds if they aren't allowed to watch indoors?

Great second set. Paul takes it 6-4.

The first was dead close too - overall, I thought Paul just slightly deserved it (but only just).

So great that he gets this one and now all to play for in the third....
