Into the tie break we go. Very decent standard of tennis

Great final couple of points from Evo to seal that TB 8-6.

Dan has called for the physio for his shin.  I think it is precautionary rather than serious.

Dan is 3-0 to the good.  I didn't see the first few games of the match, but Dan looks the better player

Well, having failed to serve the match out when he had a chance and having lost the TB too now, he is also going to need to be the fitter player too.

Dan serves for the 2nd set at 5-3. loses.  Has an mp onDK's serve, loses that. Loses the the TB and has a minor melt down before going for a toilet break.

Should have wrapped that up when he served for it - extravagant attempt at a dropshot that found the net cost him dearly.

2-2*

An even longer match than yesterday (two hours & 38 minutes), but Dan eventually nails it:

QF:   (1/WC) Daniel Evans WR 70 defeated Dominik Köpfer (GER) WR 174 by 7-6(6) 6-7(6) 6-4

*****

SF:  (1/WC) Daniel Evans WR 70 vs Go Soeda (JPN) WR 191 (CH = 47 in July 2012)

The Japanese may be 34, but he's been going like a train this week!

Pleased he got there eventually but with another match to play this afternoon he really should have wrapped it up in two sets.

Dan is showing such mental strength right now. He had chances to finish that match much sooner having served for it in the 2nd set. And then when serving for it at the end and 30-30, when Köpfer got the net cord winner, Dan still stayed focussed and got over the line in the end.

Such good momentum for Dan right now. Let's hope he can carry that through to Wimbledon and beyond.

Didn't see any play but Dan has had a tough old week. He goes again later today and after that I think soeda will fancy his chances, dan has a 2 and a half hour plus match in his legs.

He takes high risks because of the way he follows his serve in, not always on good opportunities, but he's always fun to watch as a result. Good luck to him for his second match today.
