Dan aiming to win more matches than all the others put together, the way he is going. What an amazing start he has had to the grass season.

June 16th list and end of week 2. All has been said elsewhere . And yes  if James had been able to add those two wins at queens at least we would have a semblance of a chase. Maybe next year!

1 D. Evans 10
2 S. Murray 3
3 H. Watson 2
J. Ward 2
K. Dunne 2
N. Broady 2
R. Peniston 2
8 B. Klein 1
G. Taylor 1
H. Dart 1
J. Draper 1
M. Lumsden 1
P. Jubb 1

We are now at 29 wins, 1 more than same time last season with 17 from the men and 12 from the women. In 2017 and 2018, the men won 16 and 18 in the whole grass season so we are at that level now after just two weeks. Admittedly it is largely down to Dan Evans, but nonetheless the  grass season to date compares well on the mens side.

Lots to watch, but not a lot of wins. I make that 1 for JoKo and 1 for Paul Jubb.

Cameron vs Anderson was good to watch, and a few near misses. No doubles wins either.

Lots of opportunities perhaps, but lots of tough matches.

June 18th. Paul jubb moves onto 3 wins, looking good. I'd give him a Wimbledon wild card, why not? Brydan moves onto 2 wins and katie swan joins the list

Partly (ok largely) due to the rain, we still have a decent haul of singles players in this weeks events as below:

Queens - Edmund, Evans and Clarke - all playing today

Birmingham - Konta (playing today)

Ilkley - Klein, Lumsden playing today and Jubb and Swan already through to last 16 and having a day off.

So 8 players, 6 of those set to entertain us today. I have to say it is drizzling and raining intermittently here in Yorkshire land so not confident there will be too much outdoor play but they have two indoor courts and may be able to use those at some stage

Just a quick thought for the Mods.

We have a lot of prediction threads these days - who will get the most wins in the clay/grass season singles/doubles.

Would these threads not be better off in the Predictions Section ? I tend to look in this section for information about tennis in general but it is being a bit dominated now by these types of threads. I have no problem with them and indeed join in myself, but I think if we have a predictions section, we should use it.

No apology needed.  They are fun threads and drum up a lot of interest.  That is the most important thing.

I do tend to agree with you though Bob, and had thought about putting them in predictions thread but didnt for reasons I cant actually explain!

Well, at the moment that thread is currently an archive, so we'll all have to change our habits, but probably a good idea!

Birmingham fallen by the wayside in singles and doubles

Queens - Edmund, Evans and Clarke - all playing today none finished yet, might be more action later.

Ilkley - Jubb and Swan already through to last 16 and having a day off.

S. Murray 3 (1 event, came through Qs)
H. Watson 2 (3 events, 2 MDWC)
K. Dunne 2 (2 events, 1 MDWC)
N. Broady 2 (2 events, 1 MDWC)
G. Taylor 1 (2 events, 2 MDWC)
H. Dart 1 (2 events, 2 MDWC)
J. Konta 1 (1 event)
*K. Swan 1 (2 events, 2 MDWC)
M. Lumsden 1 (3 events, 3 MDWC)

So with Katie S the sole remaining women this week, it's not exactly been a great return for 3 weeks worth of homes events, with only Eastbourne to come, which will be a depleted field in terms of Brits, largely because of a lack of success in the prior weeks to really turn heads.
