Hmm, Jo going to be faffing around even longer on that clay stuff. I guess it may make sense for her to withdraw from Nottingham. But her poor voters.

A few wins today, the ball starts to roll!

1st place currently - James ward 2 wins

Equal 2nd place - Katy Dunne, heather Watson, Dan Evans and brydan Klein- 1 win each

All but brydan still in so could add to the list

9 wins in total so far on a decent day for Brits: June 6th

Eq 1 D. Evans 2
H. Watson 2
J. Ward 2
K. Dunne 2
5 B. Klein 1

List sorted by wins and then alphabetical order of first name.

3 of above still in and Heather and Katy had no votes as Dan tries to take a steal on the main competition perhaps (ie Jo, Kyle and Cam)

With singles play limited to just Dan today, he nonetheless opens a lead at the top of the table and gets our 10th singles win on the grass so far:

Table - 7th June

1 D. Evans 3
Eq 2 H. Watson 2
J. Ward 2
K. Dunne 2
5 B. Klein 1

Dan in action tomorrow as are Heather and Katy Dunne, so still a lot to look forwards to.

in the past few years the max wins we have had at Surbiton is 14, with 12 last season. 10 so far this year, with chances of one or two more. Probably par for the course , maybe slightly low, but tougher ladies entry list I think impacted this a little

Something I also tracked last year was the number of qualifying wins our players got. In the ATP at least qualies has changed a lot this season at Challenger level but nonetheless I will track it anyway. Week 1 in Surbiton though offered slim pickings and our table looks like:

1 A. Watson 1

Yes, 1 win, Mr Watson leads the table thus far

In the main singles list, Jodie appears to not be playing this next week. It was a brave call for someone to vote for her but looks like it will sadly not come off, I can't see her making the ground up after this next week.

She's out of Ilkley too.

Dan takes us to 11 wins so far in singles on grass:

Table - 8th June

1 D. Evans 4
Eq 2 H. Watson 2
J. Ward 2
K. Dunne 2
5 B. Klein 1

Plays troicki tomorrow and a win there could build up a hard to catch lead with none of jo,  Kyle or cam in action and Dan top seed in Nottingham.

Looking back at previous years, our recent records make interesting reading.

Men - 2015 24 wins, 2016 32 wins, 2017 big drop to 16 wins and 2018 18 wins. So clearly has been a couple of lean years on this evidence.

Women - 2015 19 wins, 2016 15 wins, 2017 massive rise to 38 wins , 2018 29 wins so still decent. So as the men fell our women came through.

So far this year the men have 7 with Dan playing today, the women 4, be interesting to see where it ends up overall

The qualies wins list sees an improvement today:

1. T.Moore 2 wins ( retirements count as a win)

2  A.Watson 1 win

Hopefully tara can go on and make an impact in the main event list.

One more week like this and Dan will be hard to catch, especially with Jo missing Nottingham as well.
