No , I have looked into this and there is no significance in it. Angelica ha no intention of reverting back to her Former United States nationality. She is happy with the support she gets From the LTA and her interaction with other British players.
She ended the college year at #21 in singles with an overall record of 36-7 Including All American status for the first time and reached quarter finals of the NCAA individual singles Championships with wins over #9, #16 and #3 ranked players. Helped Stanford reach NCAA semi finals and had a perfect 20-0 record at position 3 in the line up. Was locked in an interesting battle with Millie Rajecki in that team semi final which ended 1-1 in sets when the tie ended.
Injury prevented her from playing any tournaments this summer until this weeks Stanford 125k where she got a wild card as Stanfords highest ranked player. Unluckily got drawn against the #2 Seed ranked #65 . But took the second set and had been up 5-4 in the first set but couldnt serve it out. Otherwise it could have been a remarkable win. As it was she lost in 3 which was a good efFort given she had played no matches for 2 months.
Angelica will remain at Stanford for another year where she still ha eligibility due to the lost Covid year.
