Week 8 - ITF M25 - Glasgow, Great Britain (indoor hard)

Evan 6-4 *3-2. Draper looks like he is heading into a tie breaker 6-5*, been 6 breaks already there.

The live scores on Evan's court seem to have come to a halt with Evan now *4-3. If Evan could go on and win this, it would be a terrific result as the "Red Baron" won the title in Barnstaple last week.

Edit

Live scores has caught up and Evan is serving for the match at *5-4

Evan's win means a guaranteed Brit semi-finalist

Wow, like you Bob, what with the Dutchman winning last week, and Evan having such a long match yesterday, that's a brilliant result.

(And 3 x 10p that I am THRILLED to lose smile

And another cracking win, with another pesky Dutchman biting the dust:

L16:  (IR) Jack Draper ITF 79 (ATP 561) defeated (IR) Gijs Brouwer (NED) ITF 30 (ATP 431) by 7-6(5) 6-2

I wish someone would see off bloody Sijsling!

That's a good win for Jack, turning out to be a decent week in Glasgow. Still cant get my head around fact that no ATP points won yet. I was looking at live rankings and it is effectively static from around 400 down to 680 where it stops as no one is adding any points or seemingly losing them either.

I am totally ignorant about this new system (confess I haven't even tried to understand it, but suddenly am rather interested ) How far in the tournament will jack have to reach to start gaining ATP points again, or is that now not possible at this level?

I think only the winner and runner up get ATP points this year.  If I am not mistaken (although I regularly am) there won't be any ATP points for this level of tournament from next year.

Go Ryan P. Last time I looked he was a set and a break down. He is now 4-1* up in the decider.

Indeed - I know they get ITF points but my currency is ATP (ITF is like the italian lira to me) and to only get points after winning 4 matches just seems plain poor to me

Very nice win for Ryan P, who certainly seems to be firing on all cylinders at the moment.
