Week 7 - (ITF W60) - Shrewsbury, GB Hard

That fourth game was a bit of a turning point, with those 5 (non-consecutive) break points going begging. Plus another couple in the set. 2-6 *0-0

Victoria had 6-4* in the tiebreaker but double faulted on set point at *6-5 and lost it 7-6(6)

Didn't realise Allen had the mini break advantage in the tie break, but that's still a great effort from her to take it to the tie break.

Laura was also fighting hard and got it from *1-3 to 4-3*, but it is now 4-5*

For the third time in this set, Ponchet hits three aces in a game, and it is 6-6

14 aces from Ponchet is impressive (unless it's more to do with Laura's current movement).

2-2 in the tie break, LR recovered from an early mini break.

Laura saved 2 MPs from 3-6*, but couldn't save the 3rd on her own serve. Lost 6-2 7-6(5), but some good fight shown and hopefully set her up well for Glasgow

Allen has just been broken back, 2-2* there in the second.

Couldn't watch Laura's earlier match. Does anybody know if the stream is still up somewhere to watch? Thanks.

Oh dear, Laura missed a simple smash on match point. Still, pretty impressive on her return to competition.

ITF website still has the Eden/Jodie match as "upcoming", so no video stream as far as I can see.

No, far too long ago since she had a ranking high enough for that.

Disappointed in her FQR result, I thought she'd get through that match. Missing that smash which would have brought the score back to 6-6 in the 2nd set TB was also a real bummer at the end there, no wonder Laura was crouched down on her haunches for a few seconds thereafter cry
