Week 7 - (ITF W60) - Shrewsbury, GB Hard

Jodie wins 6-3 6-1, but didn't appear too happy with the umpire at the end.

Eden back on serve, 3-3*

Eden serving for the first set, *5-4, but there's already been 5 breaks in the opening 9 games, so far from a formality.

Eden does serve it out, 8 points in a row, 12 of the last 13. Half way to guaranteeing another Brit in the main draw.

Eden serves the set out, but there is yet another MTO - don't know who for though

It'll almost certainly be for Ruse. Only won 1 point in last 3 games, retired in her last match.

Ah OK.

I see that Lissey is at Shrewsbury - probably to sign in for doubles ?

Probably, unless Freya withdrew and she got the mystery 4th MDWC?

Confirmation of Ruse's MTO. I like Ruse so a shame for her if she can't play to her best, but obviously opportunities for our girls. A long way off and it may be precautionary and comes back to win this match comfortably, but thinking ahead, she is also in the MD for Glasgow and one more withdrawal would see Jodie in quals (assuming Maia gets a MDWC, which you'd think would be 100% nailed on being in Scotland).

I'm a bit miffed they've put Laura on Court 2 this afternoon - was hoping to watch her on live stream!

Any other player and I wouldn't have been as bothered, but that girl has a great style, made a big impact during the grass season, loves playing on grass and was already out for 9 months earlier in her career (still just 21). A real shame for her and hopefully she gets better soon.

Jodie vs Eden for a place in the main draw. You'd have to fancy JAB there.

Yeah, does seem very strange, especially with it clashing with Georges and not the potential all GB showdown.

Laura back underway, but down an early break. *0-2

Laura and particularly Georges, who is well underway in the first set, play their second match before Allen has started her first.

Georges and Eikeri, who are playing next to Laura and Ponchet, have just completed a 26 point 8th game, which Eikeri won to go 3-5* up.

We can't see Laura play now, but she certainly has not started so well. Mostly close games so far, but 0/5 BPs for Laura and 2/2 BPs for Ponchet tells the story. Currently 1-4* deuce
