Yes tough on Esther, but one name I'm glad to see there again is Kira Reuter who has major injury issues last year. She lost in 3 sets to Iman Garshong (who Alice Gillan has now beaten easily), but good to see her playing again.
Only upset so far in terms of the seedings is Madeline Frediani's win over Tanysha Dissanayake, 8th seed, 6-3 6-0.
Freya and Victoria Allen still to be reported, so I'm assuming it's been a long match.
I thought before the Victoria vs Freya match would be the standout match of this round and it was indeed. A tremendous win for Victoria, which may aid her Bolton WC chances too (remembering she needs just 1 more counter for a WTA ranking, even though she also only a very low current ITF ranking).
Ella Taylor [4/618] beat Lily Hutchings 6-1 6-4
Madeline Frediani beat Tanysha Dissanayake [8/978] 6-3 6-0
Sasha Hill [7/405] beat Esther Adeshina 6-0 1-0 Retired
Victoria Allen beat Freya Christie [3/507] 1-6 7-6(2) 6-2
Laura Robson [5/755] beat Ellie Tsimbilakis 6-0 6-2
Alice Gillan [6/167] beat Iman Garshong 6-1 6-2
Naomi Broady [1/266] beat Emily Morton 7-5 6-2
Maia Lumsden [2/308] beat Katherine Barnes 6-4 6-3
QF match ups are:
Naomi vs Laura - this should be fun
Ella vs Madeline
Sasha vs Victoria
Alice vs Maia
Great win for Victoria and she does look like a decent prospect with her junior pedigree and a couple of notable ITF wins, but not great for Freya, especially when she beat Victoria to the loss of just 3 games around 6 months ago.
Still, I guess it's more exciting when a youngster does well and should shake things up a but rather than the high seeds advancing
Very clever of the LTA to post the rankings of the seeds - and to use different ranking systems ! So seeds 1 - 5 are WTA rankings, and 6-8 are ITF rankings. (Just in case anyone is confused)
Looks as though Naomi and Freya are still well off their best, so yes, Naomi v Laura will be an interesting match.
Sasha vs Victoria should also be interesting in the next round. Even if neither get to the final, I'd imagine both might be in MDWC contention next week especially if Emma and/or Jodie make the main draw directly.
Victoria and Sasha are both 18yr olds, with Victoria being the more favoured by the LTA, so it will be interesting to see how they match up tomorrow. Laura vs Naomi, should be great viewing (I hope) and fancy Laura to come through that.
Edit: Slow posting there, so have repeated some of your comments Ace!

Pleased for Vic Allen. I like her game - she played a decent match at Surbiton, even though she was well beaten. (And although her match was completely eclipsed by Nell Miller's).
But I don't take the British Tour events too seriously for the higher ranked players.
I do hope that the top players use these events (even the Premier ones where the money is good) to try new tactics, play in a less stress way, and generally play in a way where it's the process rather than the result that really matters.
Was just having a look at the entries for W/C 15th April and Victoria is in the Cancan reserved entry list using her jr ranking. Emily is currently well down in qualifying for that week, but will surely get in after the withdrawals.
One of the most surprising things is Vera Zvonareva, ranked 82, has Turkey 15k down as her 1 priority. Can't imagine too many top 100 players playing in thee events.
Oh dear, yes hopefully she is fine and just a precaution with the bigger events coming up. Would be just typical, I've been looking at the entry lists a lot this week hoping overseas players might withdraw to open up the spaces for our players and just when it looks like that might have happened, it's potentially been all in vain.
Great performance from Laura to take the match to 2hours 48 minutes - she must be pretty fit after her long layoff.
Wonder which Naomi turned up today ?
Good wins for Vicky and Ella too.
Shame that Maia had to retire - I saw that she's been playing for Stirling University recently.
