And Roger Draper, ex-head of the LTA of whom we have read so many bad things, ends up as the carer of someone with advanced dementia. A wonderful thing to take on such a challenging role.
Really? I hadn't read that - do you have the link, please?
I know that Jack's grandmother has dementia - but that it his mother's mother, I'm pretty sure. Is Roger the fulltime sole carer of his mother-in-law?

Hey CD - in the article it says (quoted from Jack)
My Pa, who is Nana's main carer, still brings her to the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton to watch me train, but she doesn't know who I am. And if my tennis matches are on TV, he will tell Nana it's me but it doesn't register with her anymore.

also, I think Jacks parents are divorced as well, arent they? Wasnt Jack not in contact with his dad for a while? Which seems even more amazing that his Dad is the main carer, if it is his Mums mum.
unless Pa is the name he uses for his granddad of course?!

You're a genuis, Jon !!!
Yes, absolutely, looking at the article in full:
Draper said: Tennis comes from my Nana. She was a tennis coach to me and my brother Ben when she was younger. She was always our biggest fan along with my grandad. She is 77. When she was mid 60s, she got hit with this cruel disease, Alzheimers which has caused a slow, gradual decline in her health. Ever since it has been a steady decline. She has lost all physicality now. It has been devastating for me and my family to see my grandmothers condition deteriorate. This is a disease which completely takes away the person you knew.
"I remember her and my Pa coming to watch not only my matches all around the country, summer and winter, but also many of my coaching sessions. They were always in my corner."
That sounds very much like 'Pa' is grandad.
And, as you say, it makes far more sense.
It was bugging me because it's exceptionally unlikely that Roger Draper is his ex's mother's carer
Sorry, KK, it makes far more sense that Pa is grandad.

Congrats to Jon !!!!!
Ah ha! !
Didnt sound like the Roger Draper we all know and love! Thanks for putting me straight.
Telegraph reporting that Wayne Ferreira is going to be working with Jack, as well as continuing with Wu Yibing. Jack trying to kick start his rise up the ranks apparently with Ferreira being called a super coach.
Jack is live ranked 35 - Im guessing theres no chance that will turn into a seeding for French Open, seedings will be based on the next ranking issue?
But there must be a decent shout at Jack and also Cam getting seeded for Wimbledon, which would be great for Jack and allow him to get some progress and momentum going.
Excited to see what he can do over the French and then the grass.
hes in Geneva with Andy next week and then Stuttgart (again with Andy also playing there) in the opening grass event post Paris.
