A new CH for Jack, up to ATP 35

Will he miss out on a seeding for Wimbledon or is there still time?

Still time - end of Queens is the ranking cut off for seedings etc I think.

Awesome! Is this the one that will be used for his Wimbledon seeding? (Not that it makes any difference draw-wise if he's WR 29 or 31.)

Yes. As the draw is on Friday.

Profile of Jack by Tom Witherow in today's Times.  It's been said before, but the young man comes across as thoughtful & level-headed & with his feet firmly on the ground.  Nice to see Liam sticking up for him on social media.

Poor Jack, looks like it may have been a bit stormy behind the scenes  on top of  ( or related to) the  match point with Felix debacle.   I really hope it doesn't impact his play, he has been doing so well, but is I feel, a gentle giant at heart and he may be pretty cut up about things, which is very draining.

I didn't think he'd actually left Trotters - thought Ferreira was as well as not instead of?

Quite a few points to defend next week so rather unfortunate timing, let's hope it doesn't impact on his performances too much.

Ferreira waa apparently a large instigator of Jack's thought process earlier this year, which I mentioned elsewhere, that he needed to change his game to more attacking and less "grinding" to move up the rankings, and he said that he was in the process of adapting his game.

It did seem a bit strange and slightly impatient in that 1) I didn't really see Jack as a grinder out of matches, sufferersing from not being proactive enough and 2) considering he had had far from a smooth ride re injury issues he more to me seemed on a good path and mostly needed an uninterrupted period of real quality conpetition to see where he ould get to.

He, and whatever his team is going forward, really need to sit down, take stock, and formulate how they plan to proceed for the next year ot two.

More from the Beeb on THAT call on match point in the match vs FAA in Cinci.  At the end, some of his thoughts on his coaching situation.

First time I've seen "fly off the hook" instead of "handle"!

He seems to have mixed his metaphors.

Why Jack almost gave up tennis once or twice, the last occasion as recently as a couple of years ago.  As level-headed as ever.  Not sure how you "tune professional", though...   The article appeared before his quarter-final match against AdM, who's pictured at the end with Katie Boulter.  Includes a few thoughts offered by James Trotman.
