Solid from Kyle. So proud of Jay.

Kyle up to 14 in the live rankings and will play Klahn.

So I'm on court 2 on Thursday - any chance Kyle will be shoved out there against a lesser known opponent?

If not I will settle for Del Potro v Lopez!

You have to be in with a shout for the first one and there is no doubt that the second option is the "popcorn" match of R2.  I think that is the latest terminology.

Nishikori v Tomic could be fun - just please not Novak against an Argentine clay courter

What a shame, but a really good effort.    Was that his first ever best-of-five set match?

No, he lost in 5 in the FQR last year to Sebastian Ofner having been 2 sets up. Gutting defeat.

Thiem and Goffin follow Dimitrov out (Stan knocked him out yesterday). Paire has his leg heavily bandaged up like a mummy.

Not to mention Pablo Carreño (20), Cecchinato (29) (to Miñaur) & Verdasco (30) (to Tiafoe).  wink

I wasn't even counting Pablo Carreño - it's hardly a surprise, never yet won a match on grass! Cecchinato until last week was the same.

Hardly of the same order though. Henc why the move down to 16 seeds is no bad thing.

Fernando is pretty reasonable on grass...the other 2, I take your point but 16 seeds is a terrible idea (there's a thread in gen discussion)

Sock is another seed on the verge of going out, he is having a truly terrible year after winning the Paris masters

The thing I really like about Kyle is that he just gets on with it. No dramas and unnecessary 5 setters like Messers Henman and Murray. Sooo much less stress, and of course energy saved.
Gutted for Jay, and really miffed the Beeb didn't show it. They said it was on the red button, but it wasn't on mine. As usual coverage of show courts and not concentrating on Brits in the first few days. It's not like we normally last that long in GSs anyway.

You can see all ( if it's not all it's most of them, and all the Brits were on ) courts on bbc iplayer.
